I have got to get a new mattress. STAT! There is so much info out there I am just left with a sore neck and even more confusion. This is as bad as buying a car! I tend to like a firmer mattress but don't need to sleep on a rock. I am also having a little sticker shock. I tried out a mattress in the store and the chick told me it was $3500! I intend to take the man with me to shop and lie on them for a bit. It is just overwhelming! Anyway, if you've purchased a mattress recently, what can you recommend? Did you go to a furniture store or the mattress store? I need a drink.

I have a firm pillowtop mattresses. This one is firm enough to give the right amount of support, but firm enough to not be too squishy. I bought from Mathis Bros. about five years ago. Previously, I had a waterbed and was starting to have back problems, so the new mattress was a good idea. I find the mattress to be very comfortable, but it can hold in the heat. I generally sleep with a fan anyways though, this is Southern, CA after all. Good luck in finding something that works for you! We just went around to different mattresses and tried them out.

We bought a Tempurpedic last weekend and it's being delivered on Friday. It was a boatload of money and I'm still second guessing myself. It has the base that raises and lowers the foot and head and I'm hoping it will help with my allergies to sleep more upright.

We have a sleep number bed. It is awesome. With my hips and back I have to adjust it every night because they hurt differently and the bed feels different with the pain being different. If that made any sense. Husband likes his side rock hard.
