Every decade has its own rewards and its own hurdles. Never let fear get in the way of the adventure! This is so true. And I am well into my 6th decade.

Don't let your age define you! I'm 41 and I am still very interested in trying new things and pursuing the things I love to do. I wasted too much time in my 30s and even 20s holding back on things, thinking I can't do that - I'm too old to try/learn/do. Not anymore!

More money. less kids. freedom. self awareness.

I'll be 41 next month. So far I'm fine with my 40's. 30's there was a lot of change. I got married, had babies, moved a few times, changed jobs, etc. 20's were really hard. Really poor life decisions.
40's I'm more confident. I'm pretty sure I know who I am and I don't try to change it for others. I express myself better, even to my DH. I'm fairly comfortable with my body, the greying of my hair (though I still colour it until silver totally takes over, then I will rock that), the fine lines around my eyes. They have a story. My kids are old enough I can sleep in if I want to. A few more years, and we can leave them at home for a couple hours.

(1) tenure. (2) two new babies (not that there is anything wrong with the babies from my thirties. I just like more). (3) life is settled. I was doing a lot of dues-paying and figuring-out-where-to-live before; we're now where we plan to be, in the jobs we plan to be in, with the family we plan to have, in the house we plan to live in. It's nice. (4) I care less every year what anyone else thinks and feel more confident in my own voice. (5) I can afford the really good Scotch,
