That's awesome!! We've never been, but have friends that have gone. It looks gorgeous there and we hope to make it there someday. Have a great day (and night) trip

we just took up backpacking together this spring (after 36 yrs together)...and so a good day hike will be great. we both grew up outdoors, but dh almost died in an accident and broke both legs in 1985, and just has been given the clearance by the docs to do what he wants. so though we are both experienced, it has been strange to do it together. I just have to get backup for work!!

We always stay at the Wawona Hotel. It is fabulous. There is a 9-hole golf course across the street that is very challenging if you're golfers. The campgrounds are just down the road. There are some great hikes in the area. Have fun!

Wow, lucky! While my husband was hiking the High Sierra Trail the girls and I camped our way through Yosemite. In Wawona, we went on a horse ride and to a hoedown. They have some giant sequoias down at that end too. The drive to the valley isn't bad and if you want to avoid the crowds just look down on them from Glacier Point. Oh, and the ranger talk at the campsite was excellent.
Have fun!

we stayed at wawona hotel for our first anniversary...in 1986...we don't golf...though thanks for suggestion...the sequoias are closed...and since I used to be a ranger...I tend to skip the ranger talks... but it will be fun just to be out!! we haven't been back to the park together since that first time. work is slow for dh right now.
