Checking out the PL App.....would this work ok for the iPhone 4? The app shows it's optimized for versions 5 & 6.

I think compatibility has to do with iOS versions, not necessarily phone type (though, like it says, it's optimized forthe 5 & 6 because that is probably what the most recent update was developed on) - but I know the 4 was not eligible for the last iOS upgrade. So, I would go off that.
Anyway, I had it on my old 4 running iOS 7 and it worked but it was very slow and crashed a lot. Especially after the iOS 8 update that I couldn't get (which is why I no longer use the 4 even though I loved that phone).
