My mom is retiring at the end of this month after 32 years and I would like to get her something but I have absolutely no idea. Any thoughts or ideas? TIA!

Does she have any hobbies? Not yet! LOL! She hasn't figured out what she wants to get into after retirement.

When I retired two years ago, the hospital I'd worked at for 27 years sent me a sizable gift card to our downtown area businesses that could be used at any of those stores that participate and nearly every one of the stores in our small-ish downtown do. It wasn't as personal as you might like to be in a gift to your mom but I have enjoyed that card tremendously! I did buy a small piece of jewelry from the local jewelry store, a bottle of perfume from a boutique and a piece of art for my wall with it and have treated my friends to a nice trip to the local coffee shop for coffee and desserts a few times, which has brought me great enjoyment. My favorite purchases with that card have not been the material things, but rather the get-togethers with my friends! Each time I have used the card I have reflected on how nice it was for them to send it to me.

Congratulations to your mom!
When my dad retired, I gave him a really nice camera.
