I've got potatoes baking in the oven and I'm about to start to prep a sweet corn and zucchini pie (basically it's a crustless quiche), planning to also saute some Russian kale for the side. I'm sure the kids will be non-too happy about the veggie overload, oh well, pretty sure they'll survive.

I was alone with my youngest, so we grabbed a couple of slices and cans of soda (which we never have at home) from the $.99 pizza joint and took it to the park for an impromptu picnic. The weather was spectacular, so the people-watching was excellent.

Friday night pizza night. One will be a Totino's Party Pizza for the kids, a sausage and caramelized onion, and a bbq chicken, green pepper and green onion for DH and I.

After a number of days of eating out because we were in Seattle for the One Direction concert we are now at a condo in Christina Lake, British Columbia and cooking for ourselves ... sigh! Tonight it's grilled steak and salmon with Caesar salad

We had grilled salmon (fresh wild salmon is finally in our stores!), balsamic roasted mushrooms, and strawberries. It was yummy

scrapmaven, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. I picked up hot dogs (Hebrew National, natch) and buns at the store today because they just sounded good for once. BUT when I got home at 4:00, I was starving because I had skipped lunch, so I cooked and ate a couple right away. Then at 9:00 I was straining my pot of chicken stock but I guess I didn't cook it down quite enough and there turned out to be too much to fit into the carton I usually freeze it in. So I used the extra to make a small pot of chicken noodle soup right there and then. Which I promptly ate. So, dinner was hot dogs at 4:00 and noodle soup at 9:00. No veggies. But I did have lots of cantaloupe for breakfast.
