Lizzy- a drone in the area may have prevented aircraft from making water drops that could have prevented the fire jump. Link

If drones are spotted all fire suppression planes are grounded. They can get sucked into the planes engine and you can imagine what could happen if that happened. They could hit the windshield and again plane could come down. Sure there are other fears as well but these jerks with drones are out of control there is no reason to get in the way. I hope they catch the drone operators and they are fined and punished to the max. New laws need to go into effect immediately. This isn't a laughing matter. People lost their homes today. Who knows what that hour could have done maybe those cars wouldn't have burned maybe it could have been put out vs spreading so rapidly.

They are saying it spread faster and they couldn't get to it fast enough because of a drone seen in the area. ugh What the hell is that supposed to mean? That a drone set the fire? And just how would a drone prevent fire crews from getting to the fire? This makes no sense at all. Who is "they"? "They" in this case is the County Board of Supervisors Chairman San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors Chairman James Ramos on Friday said enough was enough, and that the board will be discussing at its next meeting on July 28 what it can do to crack down on drone operators endangering the safety of county citizens and public safety officials. The board will discuss its options regarding the enforcement of existing laws on illegal drone use, as well as the possibility of offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of illegal drone operators who disrupt firefighters and police during emergencies.
Efforts to fight three recent wildfires have been hindered by drones being sent up to take a look. It is a serious problem.

I think the date for the meeting should be moved up I also think maybe our governor could maybe mandate something. He seems to enjoy that. This is a public safety issue at this point and they are endangering fire fighters and obviously extending the time it takes to fight these fires. It's costing the county money to as they had to drop $15k worth of retardant do they could land but not on the fire.
