I have a friend coming for dinner so I'm making pasta alla Toscana and a green salad. My friend is bringing a baguette and wine I have sugar cookies and homemade lime curd ice cream in the freezer for dessert. I just finished chopping all my veggies and made salads so everything is ready to go. If I get off my ass I'm going to make some rhubarb muffins. My carpenter brought me a lot of rhubarb on Friday when he came to finish off my "honey-do" list and I need to use it. My Mom loves muffins, I like to have a few in the freezer and I always have friends willing to take baked goods off my hands What are your dinner plans for tonight?

I'm making fried chicken - though I must be crazy, it's too stinking hot to fry anything. And since I'm frying anyway, I have some potatoes that need to be used up so I'll make fried potatoes for the side. Crusty rolls and we are good to go. Sunday nights can be a pain. Dh teaches a guitar class while dd teaches voice lessons. They start at 5:00 and then dh teaches youth group right after that till 9:00. So we'll either eat super early or super late. I tried a new wine last night - it's "Flip Flop" Pinot Grigio. It's in small single serve cans and it's fizzy and super light & refreshing. I plan on having that as a side too

I'm making the Crockpot Ranch Chicken recipe caro posted Friday. It's too darn hot to mess around the stove. Probably ice cream for dessert.

We have some friends coming over to swim so I've pre-made a tortellini pasta salad, watermelon sangria and watermelon sorbet to go along with the shish-ka-bobs we'll be grilling.

I found a bag of chicken in the freezer...it's some kind of breaded pieces of chicken with a sauce to serve with it. DH must have been really hungry the day he bought it. Anyway, we're having that with rice and broccoli. I told dh if it's horrible we're ordering pizza!

Hot dogs with fried onions, pork and beans from a can and I will slice up some cucumber and tomato. It is so humid here I really don't feel like moving around too much.

Greek yogurt chicken kebabs, wild rice and brocollini. This afternoon we're dropping off oldest ds for his first every overnight summer camp. Pretty sure within an hour he'll have completely forgotten about us

I have pork carnitas in the crockpot. (I am also extremely pleased with myself for actually putting half of the roast into the freezer this time, so that I have it for the next time.)
I will make Yvonne's mexican rice to serve under it; SO likes to make his up like a burrito bowl from QDoba. I guess mine will end up like that too, except I am going to have avocado on mine-- he'll have barbecue sauce!

My dad is staying with me for awhile and he got to choose tonight. We're having pepper steak and rice. Glad he picked something simple since it's in the high 90's today.

Not sure yet, so I'm coming here for some inspiration. I picked up a nice loaf of sourdough bread at the farmer's market yesterday, so if nothing comes to me, I can make some tasty grilled cheese with some fresh tomato and avocado.

I can't remember when I last had a Sunday off work so I've had a very lazy day. We had milk that needed using before it turned and ground mince that I was too lazy to bag up and freeze so I made cannelloni. I should have done garlic bread to go with it but I'd been picking at food all day so I didn't bother. DH had a tiramisu from the fridge for dessert.

We are home and exhausted. Hot dogs, veggies and dip, tortilla chips with mexicali dip, regular lots of chips, and Greek pasta salad-I am trying to replicate the one I buy all the time. I already know the dressing isn't quite what I wanted, but we shall see when the flavors have had some time to meld. I also bought in season berries, so dessert will be those, possibly on top of ice cream. I am so excited to see fruits and veggies coming in season. Can't wait for corn and tomatoes!!

It was cool and stormy yesterday so I used the oven and made a Shephard's Pie (yes, with lamb ). In the end there was only 2 for dinner, so we are having the rest tonight. Today is hot & humid so I'm not sure how it will be reheated.

One of my projects this summer is teaching my 15-year-old to cook. So tonight we are cooking together. I am letting him pick the main dish on the nights we cook, and he's picked BBQ beef cups for tonight. We will serve them with skillet potatoes and a vegetable, probably broccoli.

Sirloin steaks, mashed purple potatoes, and summer vegetables... At least that's what the Blue Apron recipe says. It looks yummy!
