I don't doubt people are talking with their wallets but I believe this was the plan. They are gradually reducing their offerings so that by January, they will only be selling main kits like ABM and Ali. And I also believe that the rewards program will be a thing of the past. October's kits were planned at least six months ago, long before they announced the changes and all of the mistakes occurred. It seems a good number of people who want to continue with SC will opt for the month-to-month so they don't have the steep penalties over their heads. Question is will switching to month-to-month void your rewards status? Has SC clarified that? As long as you continue a month-to-month subscription without a lapse, your reward status will continue. However, I don't think there will be much of a rewards program when it's all said and done so I don't think it really matters. The best part of having rewards status is being able to get a discount on the add-ons. If there aren't any add-ons, it's pretty much useless unless you buy a lot of digital product and/or classes. And with shipping taking so long now, being packed first doesn't seem like much of a reward. It still takes a week or ten days to get my box with rewards status. And I live in the US. As I said before, they are making it easier and easier for me to walk away.

So I got an order today from A Cherry on Top. I wanted and will use every bit of it. It was easy to shop there. I have $10 worth of points built up. My package shipped in a timely manner. Nothing was missing. I am excited to use it all and had a positive experience. Just sayin'. Oh, I also read over at SC (which I haven't been doing since I cleared my gallery) and was shocked to find that rewards subscribers are not getting a stamp set for sticking with their stationery sub if they didn't have rewards because of their card kit. Unbelievable. That was not obvious from the way they offered it. I wonder how many people paid for that kit thinking they were getting a special stamp. Ends up they are getting an overstock stamp or no stamp at all. "NO stamp for YOU!" (said in the soup Nazi voice.) I am so glad to have moved on. And the stamp is just an old 4x6 stamp set from the store, not a new one. I got the impression it was a new stamp set designed for them. I obviously read it wrong, and not being a subber I wasn't invested, but I did get the impression that it was something new, not an old stamp they had around the warehouse. I was a card subber and this is what my email said about the stamp . . . Are you a rewards Card kit Subscriber? If you are a rewards subscriber and choose to continue your subscription under our new kit, you will receive a bonus 4x6 stamp set in your September kit as a thank you for your continued support. . . . I was going to stay in for one more month and I am sooooooo glad I did not. But the email also said . . . How does this affect my current commitment? If you have remaining months on your current card subscription, no worries! You can either convert your subscription to one of our new Stationery Kit plans by visiting your account page or you may cancel your current subscription altogether with no penalty. If you do not take any action by August 25th, your subscription will transfer to the Stationery Kit month-to-month plan. As always with our month-to-month plans, you can cancel with no penalty within our standard cancellation policy. . . . and when I requested to cancel they said this . . . In reviewing your subscription I see that you have 2 months remaining before you fulfill your commitment with us. If you wish to cancel this at this time, there will be a $15 cancellation fee for not fulfilling your commitment. Please let us know how you wish to proceed. . . . I referred them to another conversation that I had back when they changed prices that said my commitment was no more and could cancel anytime. Their reply was . . . I'm sorry for the confusion and the misinformation that _______ gave to you. Cancelling without incurring a fee was only until we made the switch to our new site and pricing. I have made an exception for you and waived the $15.00 cancellation fee. You will no longer be receive the Card kits. Please let us know if we can assist with anything else. . . . they clearly have no idea what they are doing. They say one thing, then another … post one picture, then another … you can't believe anything they tell you. You can't even guarantee that the things you order will be in the package--instead you get an Oops card or nothing at all. I was going to cancel at the end of the year but the stationary kit is more like a PL kit which I do not do. I knew I would not use it so I decided a free stamp wasn't worth it. But the way I had to fight with them to cancel will keep me from ever getting into a commitment with them ever again. By others comments here it sounds like it's just the way they do business, because they can. I will still stalk the site for Last Call but I don't go to the site much anymore.

Holy crap, there is a rewards subber whose Brimfield kits still haven't shipped yet! And no one is responding to her convos. I would be livid. I'm sure SC took her money on time.

I just had to take a look at the scrapbook kit subscription prices after lizacreates mentioned that some might convert to a month-to-month. That kit is $40 choosing that option. I'm sorry but that's a crazy amount of money for what those kits include. If you're going to spend that kind of money, check out some other companies that pack their kits full of product at that price point. Or just shop at scrapbook.com or acherryontop.com and buy what you really want. That's the option I'm taking.

Maybe the "granting requests" for the October kit is less pink! {one can hope...} It's probably just that they will include the descriptions of what will be in the kits. Or an alpha with more than one letter. I'm curious what the fan favorite product is that they've brought back. I wonder if it's returning more cardstock to the kit, which seemed like it was going to happen anyway. Or more patterned paper, which would be a HUGE improvement, in my opinion. Unless it meant that there were virtually no embellishments. Due to prompting from the 'what was your favorite kit this year?' thread, I looked back through all the 2015 kits - the difference between the sheer volume of products in February's kit vs September's is really shocking. I'm hoping some of that product volume will be returning in October, because I am an eternal optimist, apparently. (I also really hate change.) That said, today's preview will be a decision point for me as to if I want to cancel at SC this month or wait until December to do so.

atxmom yes, I'm banned but for some reason my account is still active. I'm guessing they're neck deep in the shipping issues and haven't gotten around to dealing with their banned members. @skellinton I agree that they were afraid of what we might say over there. We probably hit the nail.on the head too many times and who knows...maybe they have another big change coming up and don't want to worry about us. But based on my recent posts there, they don't have much to go off of which makes me think part of it was because of posts here. Perhaps not...who knows. It's not like they'd ever admit it if that were true.

goldenblind221 I didn't mind Rob and I definitely didn't envy his position. But he crossed the line with the way he addressed some of the members in the heat of all the discussions around the changes. I realize a lot of people were passionate and I'm not excusing members who said nasty things to staff (myself included) but like I said to Rob in a private conversation we had, it's a double standard and he, of all people as the customer experience manager, should have kept his cool. I know how hard it must have been - no one likes to feel attacked and he even said he was defending his co-workers when he should have been focused on quelling his customer's concerns. I think it was a huge learning experience for him and I bet he's happy to he out of there. Also, I'm not quite sure why SC continues to hire CS managers that aren't experienced in dealing with online and online-based CS. It's so much different than managing a Starbucks or whatever Rob used to do (I think he was more phone CS where he came from). Talking to people face to face or even on a phone is so much easier than electronic communication where tone cane be - and often is - misinterpreted.

I've seen it before. Mood boards are irrelevant to the kit contents. Back when I subbed it was the first time SC let me down.

I'm floored that they still have Rewards members without their kits and no responses to Conversations. How in the world? I'm hoping to jump on the chat today, but since it's right in the middle of the busier part of my day we'll see.

abr79, I'm wondering if they can't completely "ban" us since our account is linked to our AE account which they told us they would not be messing with? I have been participating on the MB on the AE site, but not on the AE board on the SC site. The whole thing is so ridiculous. Us not being able to post hasn't made the site any less negative than it was. Although according to the new TOU, you pretty much can't talk about anything without it being against the new TOU…which is why it's dead over there.

By others comments here it sounds like it's just the way they do business, because they can. I will still stalk the site for Last Call but I don't go to the site much anymore. i cancelled my card sub within minutes of getting that email because a stationery kit holds no interest for me. The last time I owned and USED a stationery kit, I was 12. It's not for me. But I had 4 months remaining in my sub. I started my convo like this: "please cancel my card kit sub without penalty per the email I received". And they did. Sad that we have to do that, but my advice is to state back the guideline they give to show them you know what was told to you. I'm glad I did because totally missed the part about the stamp being for rewards only--I wasn't a rewards on any kit! The freebie they gave was a digital card identical to a physical one in the kit and the people had to ask to get that! So yeah, there was no incentive to give it a try. I remember rob boye saying something along the lines of the rewards program being completely revamped come January. If I were rewards I'd be spending all my points up quickly.

I've seen it before. Mood boards are irrelevant to the kit contents. Back when I subbed it was the first time SC let me down. i personally love pink. But, I totally love all colors too so having a mix is great. What bothers me isn't the pink, it's that studio calicos idea of a no pink month is just a little bit of pink. It's either the main color or used in bits, never a pink free and they've lost customers for that. And to me, a design major, it shows a freshman level in the design department. Someone is relying on a popular color to carry them through. Even fairground which was predominately green, had to have pink thrown in. It didn't fit and to me is why that kit is such a hot mess design wise. And then the mushrooms giraffes deer and hot air balloons...

I don't know how you guys can sit through chat. The last time I attended (Pop Art preview maybe?) I was disgusted by all the fawning over everything when people had JUST posted a complaint on the board. I had to stay away after that...because I wasn't sure if I could bite my tongue anymore.

I am ALWAYS 5 minutes behind everyone else. And I'm awkward, because I generally am more interested in products and scrapbooking ideas than I am child-care stuff (I have small cousins, they are hilarious, but I'm not responsible for them in any way, so I have nothing to contribute there! )

Well crap... I couldn't take any more of the coffee talk after I got my hand slapped for asking a question.... Sounds like I am missing more dodging of questions! Funny how they didn't want any off topic discussion... But foo-foo coffee and puppy dogs are the whole reason we have those chats right?!
I will be interested to see if Sam actually responds to me outside of the chat. I found my handbook ? thread and tagged her for a response. But looking back, she had been tagged before even though she isn't sure how those questions had been missed on the MB?! Whatever!? I am sure I will get another demerit for being annoyed in my response to her on the my as well.
