Hey all! Since there was talk of meeting over here since the board is so quiet lately (gee, I wonder why! ) here is an official thread! i have the same name here as on SC, but a different avatar, how about the rest of you? If you are changing your name or avatar for here, would you mind telling us who you are at SC? The board here is way less scary than the old Two Peas reputation would have you believe! Although I think a lot of the old Peas reputation was based on the NSBR, but that is way less intimidating here as well. There isn't a gallery here, per se, but I think maybe we could start a weekly thread where we link some inspiration if anyone is interested? People could link to their own work or we can link from SC or anywhere else we find. Would anyone be interested in that? Here we can talk about shopping spots and new products and where to get the best prices too! Best of all we can talk frankly about kit clubs. i just got my first Hip Kit and I love it. I do wish there were exclusives like SC had, but I am super happy that I got product that is good quality, easy to use and a lot of it! I had Gossamer Blue for a bit, but they are just too feminine for my taste. I keep meaning to check out Scrapbook circle too. Anyway, I think once you ladies dip your foot in here you will find it a nice welcoming board that is about as active as SC, but I think we can make it even more active once everyone gets posting!

I am not really a "SC Refugee" as I have been in for awhile but thought I would post since I am on both boards. I have subbed off and on to SC. I stopped my PL kit after this month - mainly just bc I was not using it and it has not been my style. I mainly scrapbook 12 x 12. I did get the card kit this past month as a month to month subscriber. I plan to just chose months I want and do month to month. The cancel fees are just too much for me and that way I can chose which kit and "skip" months I don't like. I also started subbing to Hip Kit. I like it quite a bit and the kit is FULL since there is no Cardstock and no stamp. This works for me as I would rather buy my own Cardstock and stamps.

Okay, I have joined! This is a bit unfamiliar, but I will figure it out soon enough, I suppose. I have the same username and photo. For those who are interested, I have been scrapbooking since 1997ish. I took five years off and came back to it a few years ago. I do PL, traditional scrapbooking, and the occasional card under duress. I have a clean and simple style, although I have done just about all of it over the years. At this stage in my life, clean and simple suits me. I have been married 26 years and have four children: 23, 19, 11, and 10. I have subbed at SC since the beginning of 2013, cancelled about 7 months ago and then re-subbed 5 months ago. I love the community and gallery there and used to love the kits. I think it is time for me to be done with them now though. Next month will be my last. I am undecided about whether or not I should join another kit club. I have looked at a few, but I would love to hear which ones other people like. I am glad to hear you like Hip Kit @skellinton. I appreciate your feedback about Gossamer Blue, because that has been my concern as well when I look at their kits. They are beautiful, but I am not sure they are my style. I have been considering Paper Camellia. I do subscribe to AE's Story Kits, but I would also like to get a kit with 12x12 papers. I don't care about stamps. I don't have a LSS and hate shopping online which is why I like kit clubs. Anyway, thanks for starting the thread and I look forward to getting to know everyone here! Cathy

The title SC refugee is just a joke, someone posted this morning that the board has been quiet and people were looking for a place to go. Someone asked about a SC Refugee board, so that is why I called it that!

I'm on both boards as well with the same user name. Thanks for starting the thread @skellington. Would be interested to hear everyone's thoughts about kit clubs. I also tried out GB Life Pages earlier r this year but found it too floral and less usable than SC's kit overall. I have 4 months commitment left on my SC SB sub and am still going with my PL for now, but don't like the new cancellation policy and the kits seem to be going down in quality and quantity. So I'm looking round for other options, So far I like the look of Citrus Twist but am also debating whether I need a kit at all or whether I'd be better picking up paper and a few PL cards and making my own embellishments. Anyway, look forward to done recommendations

I'm here! Same name...haven't figured out the avatar yet. Thanks for starting this thread, Skellinton! Your name makes sense with THAT avatar (though the kitty you have on the SC one is cute!)! July was my last PL kit from SC. I started in December after roaming the boards with December Daily stuff...was totally enabled to give a subscription a shot! Loved all the kits but didn't love how it seemed that the communication (or lack thereof) to the customers was horrific and how excuses seemed to be the MO of the staff. So, with all the BS from the latest changes and then the debacle of a reveal, I decided it was time for me to be done. I do enjoy their products but not at the expense of my sanity or wallet. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a long-term sub anywhere anytime soon. I am getting Ali's Root's story kit and I'm really excited about that. That and my WITL kit will take the place of my August goodies. AFter that, I may try a couple other places just to see. I like Gossamer Blue as their pricing and shipping is reasonable and they have zero commitment but I am concerned about the florals...the last couple months have been OK but in looking at past kits, they do seem to love the florals. I'm also interested in CitrusTwist and Cocoa Daisy. Scraptastic kits look amazing but they are pretty pricey...I really want to keep a monthly kit around the $25 (with shipping) mark. Anyway, thanks again for starting this! Hopefully other people find their way here! ETA: Oh, and I don't mind sharing links to my SC gallery so we can keep up inspiration encouragment! That is pretty easy to upload to so I planned on continuing to do that (I see a lot of non SC users doing that as well...so I guess I'll continue that for awhile).

Hi all of you familiar faces and names! My user name is the same here as at SC and I will change my avatar when I get to my computer. I am still currently subscribing to the PL kit at SC but we will see if that changes by December, I really really don't like change so the thought of leaving SC when I have been a member since 2011 is scary! I am looking at Clique kits right now, they seem to have great products and a mix of manufacturers that I'm looking for and SC has become all exclusive. But I primarily only do PL now. Since I started working in October I haven't made a single layout. My other option is just to continue to buy the digital version of the PL cards at SC and use up my stash of embellishments. Oh by the way, Happy National Ice Cream Day! If you get Kelly Purkey's email newsletter she is sending a free printable for the occasion and they are cute! I should just by her stuff now that I think about it, but are her products on the expensive side to anyone else? Does any one else use the app tapatalk for this site? Does it work well?

hi there, i am kellyv from sc and clearly kellyv here as well and i just dragged my photo from sc because that was the easiest way for me to have an avatar and i am lazy like that. thank you, skellinton, for starting this thread. i have been lurking here a wee bit just to see what is happening outside of the sc world (oh my goodness, there is a scrapping world outside of sc ) but this is my first post here. i have subbed to so many kit clubs over the years (studio calico, gossamer blue, cocoa daisy, kenner road--does anyone remember kenner road?, scrapbook circle--they are a month to month club now i believe?, jenny bowlin, scraptastic, maybe others that i have forgotten about) because it has been the easiest way to obtain the newest lovely things. now i am kit-less (other than my beloved ae story kit), so to speak, but am seeking a new kit to sub to and am thinking about gossamer blue mainly because france (bananafishstudio) is on the dt there and i love what she does with paper and glue. i make cards and layouts and pocket pages and i also keep a planner though it hasn't, up until this point, been a really decorated planner. i am often too lazy to share what i make (i like to make rather than taking photos of what i have made) but i keep hoping i will get better about that because i love the inspiration i get from what other people have shared. i hope that some of the sc regulars start to post regularly here.

I'm here...same name. I let go of my sb sub with studio calico because of the cancellation fees and the fact that stuff is going up in price and you can't just pick up a main kit without a sub. With the Canadian exchange rate I'm just sticking with my AE story kit and stamps.

Well hello! It's great to see you all. I'm Marina_013. ETA:I've been a SC subber since 2008, so a year after they started. I stopped for one year, (2012/13) while we were building & I just didn't have time to scrap & was packing up my craft room & realised it had more boxes than any other room in the house! I quickly re-joined when they did the instant reward status promo. I know, it was a very controversial one & I would have been pissed off with me as well, but hey. It was offered & it's not like I hadn't already done my time! so there, there's my guilty secret & I feel better for having got it off my chest. i subbed to PL on some other promo, to supplement the dwindling SB kit. I figured for an extra $20 p/m it was worth it, bit I quit that when the recent changes were announced. i was going to wait until Dec, to see how it all pans out, especially the rewards status changes, but I'm not not so sure I'll last til then. im so glad you guys are moving over here. I hope you'll stay. the community over there is honestly the only reason I am so hesitant to leave. Thanks @skellinton for starting the thread

Yay! So excited to see some familiar names (and faces) starting to pop in!
I'm really excited that we can talk about (and link to!!!) whatever products and kit clubs we want. I mean, I know we could talk about other stuff at SC but linking was pretty frowned upon, if I'm not mistaken.
And, please keep the other club ideas rolling...I research them regularly (even if I"m not sure if I"m going to to sub anywhere else or not).

Hello everyone! Glad to see this thread started. Hopefully I am recognized by name and my photo. I first subscribed to SC in June 2009. I still have all my kits together and I have never killed one - except for the very first one, with which I got one add-on and made 16 layouts. I am a bit of a hoarder. I cancelled both SB and PL after December 2014, but then resubbed to PL with a promotion. I am planning to keep PL through December 2015 and then I need to cancel. I just subbed to Ali Edward's story AND stamp kit, although I am waitlisted on the stamp. Hoping to get the "Roots" set with the restock. I am also looking forward to receiving the WITL kit on Tuesday. So anyways... to be honest, I should stop spending completely and start creating more. Hope everyone has been having a great weekend!

Welcome refugees! I'm a long-time scrapbooker, but have never subscribed to any kits. I'm aware of the dissatisfaction over at SC from what has been discussed on this board. It's really a shame to see any aspect of this business struggle. It seems like once they're gone, the options become more limited for everyone. I hope they can figure it out before it's too late.
There is a gallery here, set up on Flickr, linked at the top of the page. It's fairly new, but I just noticed yesterday some nice work is being posted there. Feel free to join the fun!

How nice to see some more faces over here! I am wightkate on SC, not that I post very much. I'm in the UK and just find postage prohibitive. I do shop their sales sometimes and the digital section. I wish their customer service was better though.

Hi SC Refugees! I am still getting my SC kit, but we will see for how long...
I am Imperia over at SC (in my avatar over there I have bright pink hair) and my name ImPEAria I have had for ages as a member of the old 2Peas board. I started scrapping in 2004, and found 2Peas shortly after.
My problem is basically, I don't want to change kits, I like my SC kits, but if they keep getting lighter I don't think I can stay. I have no idea where I would go though. I have subbed to many kits, and SC felt the most "me". Hip Kit isn't me...not sure why, it just isn't...maybe because they don't have stamps? I LOVE stamps...I was kicking around the idea of Gossamer Blue or maybe going back to Cocoa Daisy (I subbed with Cocoa Daisy a bit before I started SC).
Welcome to all the new faces. This is a truly wonderful forum, and I think it would be lovely if you guys would stick around, so you didn't feel "homeless" so to speak.
Skellinton thanks for the thread. abr79 and anniefb Hi! Nice to see you. mdpea I didn't realize that you was you Marina!

Welcome to the boards SC members. I started scrapbooking in 2005 and have never subscribed to any kits clubs. I heard of the changes that are going on over there through this board and several Facebook groups I am in. I really hope that things will change for the better for all of you, in the meantime I hope that all of you enjoy this board.

I am djuna over on Studio Calico, with a different avatar. I started subbing to the regular SB kits in I think 2012, was with the initial batch of PL subscribers, dropped my SB sub because I thought the kits were getting thin and incoherent, and am still subbing to PL right now. I will see how the changes shake out over the next several months. I have some separate concerns about the juvenile nature of some of the newer cards and stamps -- I am also keeping an eye on that in deciding whether to stay.
I started subscribing to Ali Edwards' story stamp last month, loved it, and added a story kit subscription this month. I'm going to see how far that stretches for me and will evaluate whether to keep my PL kit monthly.
I subbed for a while at Noel Mignon after I quit the SB sub at SC and loved her SB kits but drowned. I am on hiatus until I make a dent in my backlog. It may be a while.
I really do use the PL kits (I do a weekly spread and a lot of mini albums), so I'd like to keep with a PL sub somewhere. I bought a few as one-offs at Noel Mignon, but, while I love her SB kits, the PL kits weren't to my taste.
For those of you subbing to the Hip Kit, I haven't subbed there, but used to go into the owner's shop all the time when she had a bricks and mortar store, and she is just an awesome, nice person. You should feel good about supporting her business.

That's how I felt about SC kits, too! I love the colors and designs and the stamps! I shopped around for awhile before I initially subbed and just really liked the overall feel of the kits. And, up until July, always felt like I got my money's worth. But changes to commitment and horrible communication aside, July's kit was weak. Thanks for the welcome! Glad to see you're out here already! I love it! Not sure why I was so intimidated by this community!

Nice! Welcome, SC folks! I have the same name but different avatar on SC boards. I just cancelled my PL kit, but have another 5 months (the $5 deal got me last month before the announcements started) left on my scrapbooking kit. I also sub to Cocoa Daisy and consider that my 'main' sub and scrap home. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just an enthusiast!

So glad so many of you joined over here! It really is a good board! I subbed to SC way back in 2007 and had a main kit sub until Underground then I just switched to PL and I periodically buy the 12x12 paper add-ons. The thing that has kept me a member so long is the stinking stamps, for the most part I love them, but recently they have been hit and miss. I loved my HIp Kit, but I really do miss the stamps. I like the Gossamer Blue stamps, wish I could add them to the Hip Kit!
@abragg I used to use a different kitty for each online account and sometimes the cat's name. When the old Two Peas went away I switched to the avatar that matched my name and switched all my message board names to Skellinton to make it easier for me to remember. Boy, that sounds like I am a MB floozy, but it is really just SC, a few Disney boards, and here.
I am looking at Felicity Jane as well for a kit sub since she does have stamps, but I am not sure I want a kit with all exclusives. I like getting different manufactures because it keeps me from buying entire lines (except for OA, I will always buy their entire line when and if they come out!)

I was also looking at Felicity Jane but not sure the fit/style of her papers is right for me. I actually am not one that minds all exclusives, it means I won't have already bought the products hehehe. MB Floozy made me LOL... You and me Skellinton OA 'til the end, right? If only OA had a kit club...but then again they are so poorly organized it would be a fiasco. I did just order the Summertime Collection pack, and have been busy playing with Treasure Map so I am a pretty happy OA camper.

Hello everyone! I've never subscribed to SC, but thought I would ask a few questions since you are talking about kit clubs.
Can anyone recommend a kit club that seems a little behind the trends? I'm just not into pastels, wood veneers, and gold foil. I see so much of that in the kits right now. Wasn't there a kit club that was geared toward moms of boys? I'm needing something more masculine. I'm interested in PL and embellishment kits too.

Hello ladies, i was already a member here though to be honest I just do not get onto forums much at all these days, not the way I used too.
I subbed to SC from 2009 until almost 2 years ago, then I re subbed for 2 kits or so. I am a subber over at citrus Twist and currently on the waiting list for Clique kits, have tried Gossamer Blue and love them too.

I went to play with it though and struggled, I ended up packing it up for a friend who just started scrapbooking, I am sure she will love it with all the other goodies I put in her box.

That's interesting about the SC kits feeling like "me" because I used to feel that way too. I loved that they seemed more sophisticated and not so themey but lately they have been off. With the specialty papers that are hard to miss and this last month with the circus themed acetate pieces. It was honestly easier to cancel than I thought. Then after getting my last kit and all the drama and changes working with my last kits basically sucked. The MB doesn't even have the same feel. Happy to be here!
