Who else is loving this storm? I wasn't too thrilled with it yesterday as it made our drive out to Simi Valley a bit nerve wracking and made our trip home 3 hours instead of 1.5 hours. But today is a lazy day at home. Have a window open to listen to the rain and thunder.

Loved it yesterday! The rain was great and it wasn't hot. Today has been icky. Just hot and humid but no rain yet.

We had a wedding with an outdoor ceremony to attend yesterday! Luckily the ceremony was in the evening so the rain was finished by then. It was mighty humid and the AC had a hard time keeping up, but all in all we didn't let it spoil our fun. There is a Back to the Future marathon on today so we have just been vegging out, listening to the rain fall.

The humidity this morning was absolutely disgusting! I came down stairs where all the windows were open and I felt like I was walking in a marsh.
Today's storm just arrived and I'm hoping I can open the house up again. It was so fun hearing the patter of the rain yesterday with all the windows open. Usually it is so cold here when it rains.

I'm enjoying this unusual weather also. We had lots of rain here in the San Gabriel foothills yesterday. Today is muggy, hot, cloudy and very windy.
It's unsettling to have this kind of weather any time of year here in So Cal, let alone in July. It makes me wonder if someday the hurricanes will actually reach this far north. I can only remember a handful of thunderstorms in the past decades, and now there are several a year.

It's pouring again. I love it. We've been just hanging out with all the doors and windows open since yesterday and just enjoying the rain. Everything is so fresh and clean.

Today is just gross. I'm glad we got a semi-soak yesterday but the humid aftermath is awful. How do people in the south live with this kind if heat and humidity?

So maybe this weather isn't so bizarre after all. Just after I posted, it got very dark and started raining again. The Angels game is on rain delay, so it must be storming in OC as well. Maybe I'll make some chili for dinner. It's that kind of a day.

I agree the humidity has been horrible.
It rained all day yesterday but not yet today. In the past hour or so the sky has been darkening with clouds so it's probably going to start soon.

The rain has started. Not as hard as yesterday but some drops are falling on and off.

I too, remember rain during the summer when we were kids and would go camping at Doheny Beach and Carlsbad. I remember the Santa Ana winds when I was in elementary school, because there would be fires in the mountains and the wind would bring ash to our playground.
We could use some of that rain up North please.

I loved the rain, thunder, lightening & wind yesterday but hated the humidity today. The rain started again here around 5 and has been steady since then and finally the temps have dropped.

I'm on the Monterey Bay and I'm sooooooo jealous.
We had lightening and thunder this morning, but just a few dots of wet. It's been hot and humid all day.

I'm a 54 year old native. I do remember some summer rain in the past, but nothing like this weekend. On those rare occasions when we've had summer rain, it's been light and brief. This rain is like winter rain, but it's hot and muggy. I think we're due to get a total of an inch ou of this storm system which I have never experienced in summer. And, the beaches have been closed to swimmers for the second time this summer because of lightning. I never heard of that before.
I'm glad we have the rain though. My blood orange and nectarine trees are close to death from the drought. Trees really need rain to flush out the stuff that hose water leaves in the soil. I only hope it's not too late.

Well it certainly got crazy here! Lots of downed trees, flooded streets, rescues, vehicles being swept away, power lines down, flooding.

Just started raining lightly in the OC again after about an hour or two break. I always try to explain to non-Californians that we really don't get rain for several months at a time in the summer. So different from other parts of the country.

I love it. Like everyone else, I was able to open all the windows and listen to the rain. The humidity didn't bother me too much. It sounds like arrowhead and mountain areas got hit hard.

We need the rain so badly, but my dog could do without the thunder. Here's a pic of him huddling in the corner behind the plant. He's a good size dog too and you can barely see him. The humidity this morning was awful. In fact my FB post today was "GPS says I'm in Southern California, but the humidity says I'm in the southern United States. " ETA: I was finally able to coax him back into house shortly after this.

We were at Disneyland complaining about hot and humid it felt and then we got a few sprinkles. My daughter and I went on the Bobsled and the skies literally opened up. I got more soaked than I would have on Splash Mountain. We literally ran to a shop and bought one of the last remaining ponchos. And we just carried on. We had a blast. Some people looked like drown rats-soaked to the bone, a lot of people fashioned trash bags on them and quite a few left. We just took advantage of it and went on rides. It will be a Disney day I'll always remember. We also saw Jojo from Dance Moms there :-p

You're welcome. The colorado rockies seem to take rain delays and postponement with them and we were playing the padres.
