I'm new to the board. Is there a thread for monthly/weekly goals?
I had a health hiccup and haven't scrapped since NSD, so I need to do some major organizing before any scrapping can be done. This week, I will finish organizing photos and order prints.
What are your current goals? What have you done so far this month?

Glad to hear you are on the mend and back to scrapping and organizing. There really isn't a message board but I will tell you my goal is actually to get back to some layouts and I have PL albums and some other projects I would like to finish. I have taken a hiatus since I rediscovered my love for sewing. So most of my hobby time is either spent sewing or making a few cards.

I have some long term goals and short term goals. My long term goals are to scrap all of the photos of my life that someone else would have trouble scrapping if I don't do it.
This year so far I have done five 8.5 x 11 albums of my teen years and one 12 by 12 album of the second half of my Air Force years. My current project is the first half of my Air Force career and I have many more photos and lots more memorabilia, so I think this project will take me probably the rest of the year.
A short term goal is to scrap my current photos, which are the ones I have taken since May. I plan to scrap those at an upcoming crop during CKC. I try to keep up with the current ones so that I don't have photos on either end of the spectrum - new ones piling up and old ones still to do.
My very very long term goal is to take my completed albums from 1995 to 2005 and split them up for each of my 2 boys. Those years I did family albums and I would like for each son to have their own albums and not one block of time combined. It will involve me basically redoing a second layout for many of them to split them up - like Christmas 2004 might be a 2 page spread. I will take the 2 pages apart and rescrap them into one 12x12 page for each boy.

I think you just started the goal thread! Great idea. I don't really have any specific, numeric goals, but I am trying to scrap more regularly and get some pages done without taking ages and ages on each one.

My goal is to get moved back into my scrapbook area this weekend. I'd also like it to be neater, so it looks nicer as it's in the end of the LR.

This thread is a great idea. Maybe it will motivate me to scrap more. My long term goal is to be caught up. Right now I'm scrapping 2013 pictures. I know being caught up isn't important to some people but it is to me. I find that I can scrap more "moment" type layouts instead of just events. The moments are forgotten as time passes. A short term goal would be to finish the 2013 pictures. A very short term goal would be to finish the two half done layouts that have been sitting out for a week.

My short term goal is to finish the album I've started about our house remodel before school starts. I would also like to be current with Project Life by then also, but I'm in OK shape there. I have through June in the pages, but need to do the journaling.
Long term, I would like to do childhood albums for DH and myself. I have the pictures and an album, I just need the time!

Great idea for a thread! Glad you're here Funny story about goals... The kit club I was working for closed in April and I was doing three or more layouts for her a month. Most of DS's album was made with her kits. So not only was I bummed about the club closing, I was worried I wouldn't get as many pages scrapped every month. When I told DH this he said, "I manage people for a living! what is your goal? I'll help you get there." He was joking, but it did make me set a goal of 6 pages a month. I count each side as a two page spread because those still take me awhile to do. I went to a crop this month and sent DH a text that I had done 12 pages. And then he told me I set my goals too low. Lol! I call him my Scrap Manager But really, I just want to scrap. If I do more or less than my goal that's fine. I just want to be sure I make the time for it, because it is therapeutic and good "me time."

Great idea for a thread, thanks for starting it! (And welcome to the new pod!) My ongoing goal is to get my studio put back together. I've been working on getting things unpacked and organized since mid-February. Since then I've taken part in two scrappy garage sales (with one more coming up this fall), I've gotten about 60% of my stuff unpacked and mostly sorted, and just today I moved something like 16 containers full of sorted supplies into a closet on a temporary shelf (waiting on a quote for the shelf unit I really need!). I still have a long way to go, but I've got a few days this week to work on it (barring any unforeseen hiccups) and I'd like to be able to make some good progress. My short term goal is to have things cleaned up and organized enough to have some friends over to scrap before the end of August.

Myboysnme, I love reading about your long term goals. That is something I need to think about! Mikklynn, I have a scrap room now, but I organized and kept my space more tidy when I was in a living space. Good luck! Alissa, Scrap.Manager? Lol! Love it! So jealous you got to do a crop. I've been researching retreats. I want to do one in Sept. I haven't been in a couple years. Crazy4Scraps and everyone re-organizing, Is there a method you are using? I just joined a FB group for scrappers that is all about organizing with that book, the magic of tidying up, that they chatted about on PRT a few weeks ago. I will keep a thead like this going so we can update eachother on our goals. Maybe I'll do a fresh one every month. I think I'm going to like the new pod!

Crazy4Scraps and everyone re-organizing, Is there a method you are using? I just joined a FB group for scrappers that is all about organizing with that book, the magic of tidying up, that they chatted about on PRT a few weeks ago. I don't have a method exactly. All of my personal scrapping (and stamping) stuff had been packed up for at least 3 years (and some of my stamps have been on ice for five times that long!!). We moved in 2012, and it took a lot longer than I ever imagined it would to get my studio space ready. I started unpacking in February and I'm still not completely unpacked, but at least most of my scrapping stuff has been gone through. First step is to purge and get rid of whatever you know you won't use. Sell it, donate or trash it, whatever makes the most sense, just get it out of the space. Next whatever you're keeping needs to be organized in some way. I scrap primarily by themes or events, so that's how I've been sorting my stuff to keep as I've gotten it unpacked. There are other ways too. There are free organizing classes online done periodically by Tiffany Spaulding (The Scrap Rack) and another one that's free through Scrapbook.com that you can start any time. I went through both of those but it was before I was really ready to actually go through anything, so it's something I'll revisit once I get more of my purge stuff gone and out of the way to refine what I've started. It's been such a long process. As sick as I am of working on it, I keep plugging away.

crazy4scraps, I still have boxes (?5ish?)of craft supplies (some sewing) to go through from my move last year. I'm thankful that what I have sorted and put away let's me create. lonr, welcome! Glad you're on the mend. And Thanks for starting a goal thread. My goal for this week is to get my July stash challenge layout photographed and posted (it's been setting to the side since last Friday). Finish the content for week 2 of an art journaling class I'm teaching in the fall. Since the month ends next week: those goals include taking at least 1 day to just focus on scrapbooking. And I'd like to get week 3 and 4 of AJ class finished.

crazy4scraps, I still have boxes (?5ish?)of craft supplies (some sewing) to go through from my move last year. I'm thankful that what I have sorted and put away let's me create. Five boxes left to go through after a year? I'd say that's GREAT! Man, I *wish* I only had five boxes left and we moved *three* years ago! I've made a lot of progress since February but I still have a long way to go. I've barely touched my rubber stamp collection (which is extensive since I started collecting them over 30 years ago), and that will be one UGLY hot mess when I start dragging all that stuff out. I figured I'd better start with the scrapping stuff, plow through that, and then take on the stamps when I have some room to spread out again. I made some good progress yesterday. I wasn't going to mess with the semi sorted boxes of stuff at all until I saw how many boxes had duplicate categories, and then it made sense to sort the stuff out a little better and combine where appropriate. Got about ten more bins of stuff into the closet, but now I have to figure out the best way to sort/store alpha stickers and rub ons (two big stacks), and decide the best way to store the two overflowing bins of miscellaneous embellishments which is kind of overwhelming. Find a big bin and dump it all in, or sort into a set or two of 12x12 Sterilite drawers? Ugh, decisions.

Short term goal for when I'm at the beach this upcoming week for vacation: don't go crazy taking pictures or these too will fall into the photo storage hard drive, unscrapped! If I can keep the amount reasonable, I can see myself actually getting the pictures printed and scrapped before I lose my memory of the vacation

I did about 140 pages between January and May 10th. I had three albums I had to complete and I was getting ready for a graduation and lots of company. I made calendars that were filled with things that had to be finished each day. By the time graduation hit, I was done scrapping for a while. I started to declutter the house and organize my scrap stash even more anally! Is that a word?? I spent 7 hours updating my dies, punches, etc. Last weekend I finally pulled out those graduation pictures and started scrapping at a crop. I finished 12 pages. It felt great to be on the move again. I just retired from teaching in May and I have the time to scrap, I just find that the more time I have the less productive I am. I seem to be more focused when I have other people to scrap with.
So my goal is to be caught up with my current pictures by the end of August. We are going boating tomorrow, so there will be more. I think that makes about a dozen or so pages to do. I also found our Hawaii pictures from 1993. They are all in a book that just has slots for pictures. I want to do a quick Project Life type album for these pictures. I just can't decide on a paper line. I think I want bright colors. The travel PL items I have are darker. The pictures are also 3.5 x 5, so all of the pictures will need a backing. If I get all of these done by Aug./Sept, that should be good. Then I want to go back and finish the 2000-2009 pictures that are happily waiting in boxes.

I find I take at least 100 pictures each day on the boat. My boys tube and wakeboard and the pictures are just hysterical. I am pretty good about picking my favorites for 2-4 pages of layouts. Each vacation we take (usually a weeklong beach vacation at an all-inclusive) turns into two fifty pages books (one for each kid). Vacation pictures are my favorite. They are the only albums I am completely up to date on (with kids).

I have my acrylic stamps out, but I need to organize them. But I use to sell SU! so I have 2 large boxes of them that I don't have space for. But on another thread some brilliant refuPea stated they only remove stamps from the wood block when they use the set. So I'm thinking this will be what I do, because I don't have the storage space for them. But embellishments have been a nightmare for me as well. I spent a day with rerun movies and what felt like every surface in the living room covered while I made piles. (but I then saw I missed a box of mixed stuff, but shhh! cuz' I'm going to pretend I didn't see it until at least next year -lol). Good luck which ever way you decide to go! I can empathize.

I bought a bunch of those plastic DVD cases (like the SU kind) to put my misc. acrylic stamps in, but now I think I might want to get some of those wall mounted racks to hold them because otherwise they will take up more space than I want to give them. I left the SU cling ones in their cases and the CTMH ones in their clear pocket things. My wood mounted stamps are going to be a problem. I want to weed out a good chunk of the ones I won't use anymore, but even after that there will be way too many to store efficiently with the wood blocks attached. I wish there was a cheaper, easier way to convert them to cling, but I'm betting it will be a time consuming, messy task. I'm still trying to decide what to do with all those embellishments. It's such a mishmash of assorted stuff. As much as I'd like to get rid of all the stupid plastic Iris carts, it might be the best option for that kind of little miscellaneous stuff to put it all in one big tower that can be shoved in a corner somewhere. I've already weeded out the stickers, alphas, diecut things and the rub ons. There's no easy way out unfortunately!

mjmone - Lucky! I wish I had an expo coming up soon! Have fun checkwheelsdown - I am finally almost done editing prints to order. I usually do it monthly, but havent ordered since March! Every time I have to upload and organize I'm like, "why do I take so many pictures!!?" 950nancy - I am so impressed! 140 exceeds my yearly goal! Awesome. So finally I am ordering prints, and DH will pick them up on the way home. Yay for same day pick up! It will be hard NOT to get working on PL, but I don't really have time this week.

My son commented on how cool he thought they were and the waiter gave him his (very friendly staff at this resort!). He has worn it several times to school.

I will get them tomorrow and plan to do PL Thurs or Fri. I plan to invite friends to that- I have a little scrapbooking FB group. I'm trying to convert people to the hobby.
