We were so hoping Jordan Spieth would win but he missed the playoff by one stroke. But, we were cheering for Zach Johnson if Jordan didn't win so we're happy. And how about that amateur also named Jordan who had the lowest 4-day round in Open history!

I was so hoping Spieth would win, and he did a great job of coming back after a slow start in this tournament.

He's a great addition to the golf scene. And his presence (and win) the week before the British Open at the John Deere Classic certainly increased the attendance and interest here in the Quad-Cities!

YAY for Iowa boy Zach Johnson!! I have friends that went to school with him at Drake University and my Uncle used to play with him quite a bit at a public course not far from Drake when he was there.

No I didn't watch per se but I did get to hear all about it. As in the Pvr recorded it. I heard every singly stroke and didn't hear any commercials.
Was it a good tournament? What can I say to my dad that shows I know anything about golf? The weather at St. Andrew's? It was in Scotland, right?

Except for the poor souls ~ including Jordan ~ who didn't get a chance to finish on Friday. But the tournament was great and there were lots of people who had chances to win. Dustin Johnson who did well the first 2 rounds completely came unhinged and ended up at -4 for the tournament. The winner was -15.

-15 is a super low score. Is the course really hard? Those low scores would make me think it isn't but I have heard otherwise.

The course is considered a "links" course, the oldest form of golf course. The most recent U.S. Open was played on a links course at Chamber Bay in Washington State. Some golfers like them, others....not so much.

Chambers Bay was awful! Although it is a links course, it in no way resembles the courses used in The Open. If the PGA ever uses it again, I'll be surprised. ETA: The condition of the course, not the layout.

I wasn't watching, but paying attention at all the updates. Same with my whole town. Zach Johnson is from my town, so we always cheer for him.

Jackass people were calling him boring. My comment was that if you mean a married man with children who doesn't screw everything with a dress, I'll take boring any day. He is a good decent man and I'm proud to support him. By the way, I heard there are 4 players the last 10 years who have won 2 majors and 10+ tournaments. Tiger, Phil, Rory and now, Zach.
