I got bit by a spider. I don't know what kind because I didn't see it I only saw the aftermath. I am on Keflex but the bite is blistery and ugly. It's not painful but it burns and itches a little. What's really weird is that I have some mosquito bites that have blistered too; which I don't remember ever happening before.
I'm not looking for advice or anything but I have no one to complain to and I wanted to vent a little bit.

EFFing spiders. I got bitten in the winter and needed antibiotics, took. Cephalex and it was a mess and the infection kept spreading by the hour.

Yup I called the doctor back because I was concerned that it was getting bigger. He told be it would get worse before it started getting better. At least now it seems stable but it is not getting better yet. I have been on medicine since Friday. He told me it would be about half a week before it started to feel better.

I can sympathize. I posted about 2 weeks ago about a leg irritation (and trying to decide whether to go to the ER or not). Myself and my doctor believe it came from a bite (because, well, there was some sort of bit on my leg), I just don't know what but I'd bet a spider. I, too, ended up on Cephalex for 10 days. My leg was extremely red, swollen, painful, and I got flu symptoms. I was a mess. Doctor diagnosed cellulitis which can develop from bug bites, scrapes, etc.
I hope you're feeling better soon.

I see we all got the same treatment. I didn't get the fever or flu like symptoms. I was worried about cellulitis but so far I'm okay so I might be out of the woods. I'm not sure. Sorry about your ordeal @devildog. I'm pretty miserable; I'm sure having cellulitis would be worse.

Sorry about your ordeal @devildog. I'm pretty miserable; I'm sure having cellulitis would be worse. Thanks, I'm definitely better. But, I was/am afraid it'll come back, lol. I guess Cephalex is usually a 7-day prescription, but when I went in for a follow-up, she did say she could give me an additional 3 days if it's wasn't completely gone. I called in for the extra 3 days. Let me tell ya' my side effects from Cephalex weren't the best either. Blech. If you've been on medication since Friday, I'm guessing you've got to be feeling better really soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. We so look forward to summer, and the warmth and flowers, etc., but along come the creepy crawlers. It's a bit freaky knowing I was bit but not even knowing it.

I'm on the medicine for 10 days. I feel ok. I never felt sick. It just itches and burns when fresh air hits it (weird) and it looks like hell.
