Another busy day in these parts so I'm just getting time to download the free shape of the week from the Silhouette store. Has everyone checked it out? PepsiGal , doesitmatter , FurryP , Elsabellewhen I download the free shape, I usually check out the weekly clearance to see what is there (I love a good bargain!).... This week is really heavy on the Hallowe'en shapes! I didn't find anything I wanted there this week. On another thread, there was a question about why one would download a shape if they don't have an immediate use for it. Are you a downloader? I obviously am!

I'm usually a downloader, but I skipped this weeks' succulent.

GiantsFan, you didn't like it? I'm actually going to try to cut it tomorrow. If it turns out to be cute I will post a pic.

More often than not I download the free shape. However, last week's shape did not interest me at all. I actually laughed out loud when I read your post about it being a buffalo. I don't know why it struck me as so funny but it did. I think the succulent would be pretty on a gift box or bag or maybe a wreath.

I'm a downloader. I liked the succulent freebie, because it can also be used to make a 3D flower. Just shape the petals instead of creasing them, and cut them from a different color.
Most of the freebies are not worth downloading, so I was happy to see one I could use on a package, box, or mini album front cover.
I have a sub, so I download anything I like, then when I need something special that isn't in my library, I can search on the store site to find something else. It's still cheaper than buying cartridges for my Cricut, and I choose only shapes I like or might use.
I didn't download any of the clearance shapes this week. Usually I find at least one or two that I like, but not this time.
Why do I download shapes that I don't plan to use immediately? Because I like having options. If I have to hunt for something every time I need a design, the searching process cuts into my scrapping time. If I already have something that will work, it speeds up the process. It's basically like having a stash" for my Cameo.
My DD doesn't have a sub, so if she needs something, she has to either find a freebie, trace a coloring book design she finds online, use a dingbat, or create it herself. She has to pinch pennies, so I understand why she does it that way. However, she also doesn't use her machine very often. I use mine all the time.

scrapnnana , your DD could probably do the same thing to build a stash but with free shapes, no? There are so many free shapes out there but it would frustrate me to have to find the perfect thing when I was working on a page.

I'm a downloader too. I also picked out a couple of the clearance - just in case I need them someday. Thanks again for the reminder!!!!!

I don't download unless I think I may actually have use for the shape. When cutter first came out they had unlimited subscriptions and I downloaded everything that I liked. Now I wish I hadn't because 1) they have come out with better versions of the shapes they originally had, and 2) because some I just am never going to use. Now I have to go about the chore deleting some of them.
