Over the past few months I have gotten several friend requests from what appears to be men that I have no clue who they are. Is this some sort of scam? Or are there just a lot of middle aged guys surfing FaceBook looking for women?

I get those too, and random messages in my "Other" message box on Facebook. Weird.

I go through periods where I get 3-4 friend requests per week from men from India, Pakistan, or Saudi Arabia.

I've gotten a few odd ones like that - when I look at their page, there is nothing - just created, perhaps one friend, who has been a woman. Delete. Block.

I've gotten a few here and there too from guys I don't know and don't even have friends in common with. If I don't know who someone is, I don't add them. I just delete the request and block them if they try to add me again. I have no idea if they could be scammers or not.

I know some of the games like Farmville are particularly bad about suggesting other players even if you haven't logged into your farm in months. So you may be on their list of suggested people to play. And the game makes it look like you are an active player. I just delete the request and forget about it.

Right after school ended I got friend requests from 2 teachers at DS high school. I know DS has not had one of the teachers, not sure about the other, maybe as a sophmore. I have had minimal contact with either of these teachers, friendly small talk, but that is about it. I accepted both requests, but still don't talk to them IRL.

I mostly played Trivia Crack and only with people I knew. I wasn't really worried about it. I just thought it was strange and wondered if it ever happened to anyone else. Thanks for your reply

Same here, makes me think they are spammers. Also, I've recently had at least 3 facebook friends have their profile pic used to create a whole new account with their likeness and name. I called my friends and asked if they'd created a duplicate account and in each instance the answer was no. I don't understand the point, why would someone do this?

I get those too, but mostly from bored women I guess. I have no idea who they are!
