If somebody that you don't know posted a picture of their new tattoo on a social media platform, and the caption on the tattoo is in a language that they obviously don't speak (you do) and the tattoo is grammatically incorrect but very easily fixed by adding a single letter on the end, do you say something?

I would, yes. I have a tattoo in Chinese and I am so paranoid it does not actually say Balance. I would be embarrassed if somebody told me it doesn't actually say that but I would also be happy because I could fix it .

Yes, but I would mention it in a private message and not on the post itself.

Omg, this just reminded me of a Bing Bang Theory episode when Sheldon asked Penny why she had the Chinese symbol for "soup" as her tattoo. she said that's not what it says but he said, "no, it says soup."

I would, and if I was the person who HAD the grammatically incorrect tattoo, I would be grateful to you for not making me look like a numbskull.
ETA: I take it back-- if it's someone I didn't know at all, then no, I probably wouldn't. And if I was the person, I probably wouldn't appreciate a stranger contacting me about it.

Someone I didn't know? I wouldn't say a word. I probably wouldn't say anything to someone who was an acquaintance either. I would have to know you pretty well before I would mention it.

The issue was with gender agreement in French and I just had a nice conversation with a lovely non-binary, amab individual. I'm actually quite glad I messaged them.

I had to look up "amab", and appreciate social media when it broadens my horizons. I'd want to be contacted to make a correction. Glad they were receptive to your comments.

Since it was easily corrected, I would message them (and glad you did). If it wasn't easily corrected, then I would not.

Oh my gosh Nicole in TX, "No rAgrets" is a catch phrase this summer. I wonder if this is the origin!

Depends... How much do you like this person??
Cuz if you don't, the giggle every now and then might be worth it.
(I'm evil... I own it.)

So was the gender non-agreement intentional, then?

So was the gender non-agreement intentional, then? It was a personal descriptor so they could have gone with either one.

Heck yes! They can hustle back and get it corrected! On a side note, I was in Safeway last night grocery shopping and was in the bakery section. I overheard a woman talking to the baker about tattoos, telling her that she should "lay off them", and "they won't age well" and "they are unprofessional." I meandered around picking out my baked goods and before leaving the department I asked the young girl if that was someone she knew personally and she said no! I was shocked that a customer would be so free with her unsolicited advice and opinions and apologized for her rudeness, as the baker was visibly upset. People seriously amaze me!

I cracked up. There was also a guy who got a tattoo for his girlfriend, but she got deported before he could show it to her. It said "will you merry me?" Lol
