I think the name "Peas" is too recognizable to give it up. Someone just overhead it being discussed at the grocery store for instance. I also like "The Pod" for a reference to the site.

I still call Willis Tower, the Sears Tower.
I still call the Aon Building, the Standard Oil Building.
I often slip and call Mayor Rahm, Mayor Daley.
Apparently you can't teach this old dog new tricks, so it will remain the Peas for me.

I'm fine with still being a pea. I did read on one of the threads about 2peas closing someone mentioned calling the new board "The Rusty Bucket"... I LOVE that idea, I find it amusing!

I agree we will always be the peas! In fact yesterday when my husband got home from work his first question to me was "so did you find a replacement for 2 peas today?" I laughed and said yeah someone created a new board. I think this group will always be referred to as the peas.

My name is Kathy and although I've lived in many different homes over the years, my name was Kathy in every one of them. I think the same thing applies to peas. To me we'll always be peas no matter what message board we call home.

I think "Peas" represent the group as a whole big pod going back to 1999 and I still think of this as the pea board... but technically speaking, believe the whole "pea" thing belongs to the original peas that started it all, Kristina and Geek.

Well I was a member of Two Peas since 2003 and it would be difficult to think of us as anything else. Funny story: At lunch I was excitedly telling DH I had found the new board. Teasingly he said that since Two Peas was shut down we needed a new name and started asking what we would be called? Carrots? Asparagus? Potatoes? Yea, he thinks he's funny.  Whatever! Awww.... I probably would have laughed and socked him the arm. I can be funny too. |
