I finally succumbed and got a Cameo. While I can tell it is amazing, I am super overwhelmed. I tried to use the master list of Cameo threads listed in this forum but it is not working.
Anyone have any tips or links to good tutorials to help get me going? There's a lot of possibilities!!!!

First tip: make sure it is set (on the machine window) to "Load cutting mat," (NOT "Load media"). Use the arrow buttons on the Cameo to change it if necessary.
Load media is for cutting something like vinyl on a roll, without the mat. Personally, I put everything on the mat. It's less prone to error.
Silhouette Plus forum is a great resource for tutorials, resources, and questions. Chances are that someone has already asked your question, so search there first before asking on their message board.
Have you updated to the newest version of software? It isn't necessary, but what software version you are using is something you need to know if you want to ask a question at the Silhouette Plus forum.
It's a great machine! Enjoy!!!

The bullseye button at the bottom of the screen (is it also the offset button?) is your friend. It makes layers for titles so easily. Check to see if you LSS has a class. Our did and it made all the difference for me.

I would start by choosing some basic shapes and trying to cut things to get a feel for the machine. You'll have lots of time to learn how to cut the print and cut designs, and to learn how to use the different supplies (sketch pens, vinyl, magnets, fabric....so many options!).
You can probably find most things through Silhouette school blog and Youtube but if you want there are intro classes online. Kerri Bradford runs a few online classes from her website and Paige Evans is currently offering a Silhouette class through Craftsy (I haven't taken it so can't give a review).
