I used some gold Heidi Swapp Colorshine on a page over the weekend. I tapped some sprinkles of it over the page and a few of the drops were bigger, like pencil eraser size. The bigger splotches are STILL sticky/tacky.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is ok to use a heat gun on it or do you think it'll harden/dry on it's own? I don't know if it's just because it's super humid here right now or if my drops were too big or what. But I'm afraid to put it in a page protector and have it permanently stick to it or something. I'm also scared to heat it bc I'm worried it might bubble or crack and ruin the page.
Any experience?

I've not had any problems with bigger drops drying. Maybe it is your humidity. Also, I frequently use my heat gun on splatters to dry them. Hope it dries for you, if not what about clear gesso over the top?

I'm guessing it's th humidity, too. I get bigger drops on my projects and while it does take a bit longer to dry, it usually dries overnight. A heat gun might work but it might also eventually dry on its own. Do you have a dehumidifier? If you do (it's a must during our hot and humid summers) Maybe put it next to that overnight and see if that helps.

Thanks! They are less tacky now. I think it's the weather. I am going to quickly shoot them with my heat gun before I put it away just to be safe.

I have used that exact product/color and it took forever to dry. Even now, months later, I can still rub off the gold (I used it on a card sample so I know it is several months, maybe even a year old). I'll try the heat gun next time.

Ok good, I'm glad it's not just me. I have some of her other colors and haven't had a problem with them. This was the first time I used the gold like this (with splatters). Before I had just misted it and it dried normally.

I've never used the gold, only the white and black and they both dried overnight. I'd say you're right about it being a cross between something in the gold color specifically pus lots of humidity. And on a side note, I LOVE your hair, alissa103! I have very similar hair, but mine never looks that good!

That's actually a pretty old pic but I'm always afraid to change since it's the one I used at 2peas and other boards. I'm afraid people wouldn't recognize my username if I change it!
