I want to repaint my family room, living room, and dining room. My sofa and love seat are brown leather (kind of a luggage brown, not chocolate), my wood furniture in the family room has an espresso finish, and my dining room and living room furniture is cherry wood - I'm going to re-upholster the rest, so it's not a factor. My floors are white ceramic (I hate them, but can't afford to replace right now), and I need to replace the area rugs. The rooms are fairly large and have a good bit of natural light. I have light fixtures that I want to keep that are brushed nickel. I have white baseboards and moulding.
So, decorating experts, what grays do you like??? I've been looking around and can't seem to narrow my options!

We have SW Silverplate in our master bath and I think it's beautiful. The countertops are white with streaks of gray and brown, so it works well with your color scheme.

I have Benjamin Moore "Revere Pewter" in my living room and Benjamin Moore "Edgecomb Grey" in the dining room. Both are kind of " a warm greige" I really like both of them.

I've been thinking of painting my bedroom grey and I've been checking out the Favorite Paint Colors blog for inspiration.

I can't remember the brand, Home Depot's main one, porpoise. I really like it.

We just did our bedroom in Behrs Marquee Silver City. It does NOT have any purple undertones. I was concerned about this because my friend painted her bathroom and it looks more like a grey/plum than just straight grey. www.behr.com/consumer/ColorDetailView/MQ2-59

My entire house is requisite grey from SW. It looks almost beige in the can, but on the wall it is the perfect grey in all colors of light....not baby blue, not purplish grey and not green.
I bought and tired nearly 25 samples of grey from various brands. I searched pinterest and read opinions from top designers before settling on requisite grey in the pro200 formula paint.

We just repainted a bedroom with B. Moore Revere Pewter and I love it. We will be using this color in another bedroom and bath soon!

I just repainted the condo I purchased. I went with Benjamin Moore Sidewalk. It doesn't look purple, blue, green or brown in the light in my place. Even with my lime green accent walls, it doesn't take on a green tinge.

We have SW Sea Salt in our entry. Sometimes it looks a little blue, sometimes a little green, which is what I like about it. That mutability may not be what you're looking for however. Good luck!

I think Jeff Lewis has a great line of grey paints at Benjamin Moore.

I used Behr's Pewter Vase in my kitchen. It is very light. It looked white in the can but on the wall with white trim it is a really fresh light gray.
I used Sherwin Williams Essential Shade in my bedroom. But I had them match that color in the Behr as I prefer that brand. I love this gray. It is rich and warm.

This is what we used in a bedroom recently that gets a lit of light. It's described as one of their greys but looks slightly bluish or pale green in different light. I love that. It's such a lovely color and looks fabulous with our dark furniture and white trim.

We just had out first floor painted Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray. It's beautiful.
We were visiting model homes for kitchen ideas and fell in love. We went down the basement to find a paint can and snapped a photo of the label.

It's going to be all about the light you get in the room. I was in *LOVE* with Sea Salt by SW and all set to use it but when we put up a sample, it was just way too blue and cold. I ended up using Marble Tile by Valspar from Lowe's. It's a much warmer gray. You need to decide if you want a warm gray or a cooler gray and then go from there. My sister used Anonymous Gray by SW in almost every room in her house. Good luck!

I was just going to recommend exactly the same color. It will tie together all the various shades you have there. My painter highly recommended that shade and said it works with a lot of rooms.

You just have to go pick up a bunch of paint chips and hang them in the rooms. I thought I was going to love Revere Pewter, but when I got it home it was too dark for my spaces. I ended up with the shade lighter - the Edgecomb Gray. It's hard to use suggestions from other people when you don't really know how it will look with your light, etc.

I painted my entire house in Woodrow Wilson Putty by Valspar(lowes). It was a color i found on pinterest when i searched for "greige color paint". is the perfect neutral warm gray "greige". Since you already have a lot of warm brown tones in your room, i think a warm gray will look better than a cool gray(which tend to have blue/purple undertones.)

I am so thankful you asked this question. I'm trying to choose a grey for two rooms in my house. Perfect timing.

I used Revere Pewter in one room (that gets lots of natural light) and love it, but realized it would be too dark in the other room (which gets less sunlight). I went with Edgecomb grey in the darker room and it looks great.

It's not gray, but a friend painted several rooms of her house Glidden's Wood Smoke (I'll confirm the name). Love the color!

It's hard to use suggestions from other people when you don't really know how it will look with your light, etc. The light of the room totally makes a difference.
I hung a bunch of paint chips on my wall and settled with Benjamin Moore Whitestone. (I had it color matched in Behr paint.) I painted the entire room (2 coats) and with all the light that comes in the bedroom, it looked like I painted it "country blue"! Seriously! I was so disappointed and totally hated it! The walls were sage green so I'm not sure if the green under color made it look blue but it was blue not grey. I even hung the paint chip on the wall and it matched the color perfectly but on a large scale, the room was still blue! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/JvSt42CUoZ9LG952aAaF.jpg) After going back to my paint chips, I decided on Behr Pewter Mug. Painted another 2 coats and LOVE it! It's dark and rich but with all the window light, it's not over powering. Good luck!
