I have never ordered from Modcloth, but I have from other companies that have very slow processing turn around times. I guess we just assume that they will process the order in a day or two and then ship in the days stated. I agree, annoying!
I think it was Simply Be that I ordered from and it was like 6 days processing, then it shipped but of course day one of shipping is that they just scan in the item and it is just sitting somewhere.

That is interesting, they have always shipped super fast for me (with the free shipping.)
I did return something to them and it seemed like it took a while for them to process it. I found it interesting that they processed it the day after I emailed them about it.

I didn't expect 24 hour turn around time like Amazon or Old Navy, but I do think my order should be packaged in less than 5 days. That's not unreasonable. I do think it is unreasonable to tell me I need to pay extra for faster shipping for them to PACKAGE it faster. Not unreasonable at all. I'd be pretty irritated to find out I'm expected to pay for faster shipping to get my order packaged faster. Sorry, that's ridiculous and should be disclosed to the customer before they click the "place order" button. The shipping speed selected should have no bearing on the packaging time at the warehouse. I have seen some sites that have a fee for "expedited processing" in addition to whatever shipping method you select. That's fine as it's disclosed that if you don't want to pay extra you'll be waiting a while. I'm pretty much over Modcloth anyway. Their clothes are expensive, the shipping is slow, and the sizing is very inconsistent. Their size charts are generic so even going by the chart you have no idea what you're going to get. It's been too frustrating to spend $40 on a shirt + shipping and almost two weeks to get it to either have to return it because it doesn't fit or the quality is terrible. That's why I always read the reviews. People seem to be great at giving lots of information in their reviews.
