While performing a 5 day renovation, we had to have scaffolding equipment in our neighbor's yard. They have young kids and I know this was an imposition to them even though they agreed to it. While we are making sure the workers thoroughly clean up the neighbor's yard each night we would like to give them something as a thank you. They are relatively new to the neighborhood and we haven't socialized with them at all so we don't know their tastes. My DH suggested a bottle of wine but I thought it would be better to give them something the kids would appreciate as well. Any ideas?

Some kind of treat? Maybe fancy cupcakes? Store bought. Don't open that whole "home made food" can of worms.

Maybe something like a water toy - those cute sprinklers that attach to garden hoses, for example.
With a cute note that says something along the lines of "thanks for letting us borrow your yard, here's something for your family to enjoy now that you have it back again".

1. Basket of great fruit
2. Tickets to local movie theater and gc for popcorn and drinks (if kids are old enough for minions)
3. Gift card for a day of housecleaning from a local service
4. A collection of children's books that were favorites for your family
5. GC to local nursery (if they might want plants for their yard)
6. GC to any child friendly event in the area in the next 30 days - local fair, water park, etc.
7. Host a get-to-know the neighbors casual lunch or tapas so they can meet others on the block

A croquet set ?
A basket of water balloons, bubbles, chalk, jump ropes, jacks, fruit snacks, a couple bottles of fun wine( like arbor mist) , nice cookies , crackers , gourmet popcorn.

We have Redbox. It is a place to rent movies. Anyway go online but a few gift certificates (like $5) and then go to the store. We always add a few boxes of candy, a thing of popcorn and some drinks. It's a $15 gift!!

I like the ice cream or the movie gift card ideas. Or maybe a gift card to a local fun park (like a place with mini golf or a bouncy place etc).

I'd go with the gift card option too, along with a thank you note. Especially if you have a local family run ice-cream place. Chances are, that would be a fun treat for a young family.

Great ideas from previous posters. I was thinking gift card to the movies, but I like the ice cream idea better.

I really like the ice cream gift certificate or go to costco ( if nearby) and get a couple of the movie gift certicates ( the adults and kids ones) a night out as a family would be great!

Give the adults a date night and offer to watch their children.
