I'm returning to JFK on a flight from Milan in September at 7 pm but because I'm flying home to Maine from there and my stepmom to Florida, we can't fly out until the next morning. I'm looking for a decent but not too expensive hotel near the airport just to lay our heads for the night. Proximity to anything other than the airport doesn't matter because after a long trip I don't think we'll be interested in going out in the town. Anybody have a good recommendation? Thank you!

If I recall correctly, there are not too many hotels near JFK. Google it. I stayed at one years ago, can't remember the name. Get one with a free airport shuttle. I doubt they are going to be inexpensive. I'm sure in that area you get what you pay for.

I used to live in Manhattan. There's no such thing as decent and inexpensive hotels in the ny metro area.

I just looked at Expedia and there's a Days Inn within 2 miles...free airport shuttle.

Thanks all. I have looked on Expedia and Googled; I was just looking for a personal recommendation from someone here. I thought there'd be plenty of people who had used the hotels at the airport. And I know NYC is expensive even though I'm just a rube from Maine.  |

We have used several different hotels near the airport. Honestly, we just go with whatever one has the best deal and has parking that is cheaper than the airport. Some of the deals actually include parking. All with airport shuttles of course. I cannot recommend one over the other because they all blur together!

Ask on the NYC forum on Trip Advisor, I have seen this question on there before, but don't remember the answers. I do remember that it's slim pickings.
