I've never posted a tmi thread. I guess I'm coming out of my shell here.
Anyway, I got an iud about 2-3 weeks ago to help with heavy periods. I'm having my first period now and yay! It's helping. I usually use a diva cup, but I've been using pads this go round. I'm wondering if its ok to use the diva cup with the iud.
I get a range of answers when i google (yes, no, yes but not the first month...), and it's after hours so I can't ask at my doctor's office until tomorrow. Just wondering if any peas have personal experience considering this is where I learned about diva cups in the first place.

My dr gave me the go ahead right away. I've used mine every month since I had it placed 14 months ago. I'm glad yours is working for your purpose. I'm using mine for birth control and while it's effective, it hasn't changed my periods. I can't complain too much though, mine only last 3-4 days and only the second day is heavy.

I've always used my diva cup with my IUD, never had a problem. You cannot use those Instead cups that go all the way up at your cervix, but you can use any menstrual cup that sits at the opening to your vag.

Are you a member of the LiveJournal Diva Cup group? They have a wealth of information, including I believe info on using one with an IUD: menstrual-cups.livejournal.com/
