If you have Gmail, you can *unsend* an email. Say you just *replied to all* by mistake and you're thinking *OH CRAP*, you can unsend it. Just go into your settings under the general tab and click Enable Unsend then set it for how many seconds you want it to be available to you ~ up to 30 seconds. This is a great tool for my business gmail account. Did everyone know about this except me?

I didn't know but I don't use the web mail. Have been using Outlook on desktop computer, mail app on iPad/iPhone. I guess I will start using it when I get a new computer (sometime soon, old one died ages ago) so that's great to know. Thank you!

I did know that even though I don't use gmail. What it does, is holds it in reserve without actually sending it for those 30 seconds. You can then retrieve it from that holding pattern it was put in. Then once that time is up it is truly sent and you can't retrieve it.

This is a new feature they have introduced. I am SO happy about this! You have 2 options a ) waiting 15 seconds to recall and b ) waiting 30 seconds. I chose 30.

As Elannah said, it is a new feature that I heard about just in the past couple of weeks. It isn't something useful for me personally but I sure can see how it could be, especially with business type mails. Gotta love something new each day

It must not be new that. I have Gmail and I just found out about it 2 weeks ago. I would have liked to have known about it when it first came out, however, I haven't needed it, either. Was it highly promoted a year ago, smannes ?

For some reason, it's just now catching on. I think it was rolled out a while ago without much fanfare and Google is just now hyping it. Now if only you could do that with texts...

This just launched as a feature a couple of weeks ago.

I think some people had access a while ago because it was rolled out in stages. I have enabled it on my personal email, but it's not yet available for gmail business domain email accounts. I wish it was, I would enable it for my entire company!

I did know, because gmail itself told me about it. What they really need to roll out is a breathalyzer function.

You can recall emails in Outlook too! We've done this at work.

You can recall emails in Outlook too! We've done this at work. recall in outlook doesn't work unless the recipient clicks on your recall before they've read it, it just then removes it from their inbox. If they've already read the message it doesn't work and also it often just calls attention to the fact that you sent something you shouldn't have. Many times I've seen an email come in but haven't had time to read it but do read it once i see the recall because i want to see what they messed up, heh heh. It would be great of it could actually recall the message with no action on the part of the recipient.

I've done this too many times to count so now I type "attached" somewhere in the email. In Gmail, if you don't attach it and hit sent, it will ask if you want to send it anyway without the indicated attachment.
