Hello Stampers, Have any of you ever got your stamps out and tried stamping on an old T shirt ? Use any color with it, if so what ink and how to do it? I am sloppy....at eating and have stained so many of these light color and white T shirts...so I thought why not try to stamp some images and sayings on it to hide the stains. Well I come up with these ideas and have no clue on how to do this so decided to ask my P buddies if they have done this process. I just know when I wear a white T that I am going to stain it. My husband got me the best gift for Christmas. He got a couple of real nice cloth napkins , went to the hardware store bought 2 alligator clips and a chain to, attached the clips to the chain on both ends...you see where this is going , right? So now when we have spaghetti he brings out the cloth napkin and attaches the clip on one corner , puts the napkin in front of my chest and attaches the other clip on the other side...a glorified bib for me... And it works great...we went out with our family (daughters husbands and grandkids) 11 of us at the time...and you got it ...got the sauce down the front of a NEW WHITE T shirt...I just may have to bring that bib with me. Seems since I have gotten older I have become more sloppier...oh the pizza is so good...Diamond Jim's its called. Thank you in advance...gail

StazOn ink comes in 25 colors. My Stazon pad specifically says not recommended for fabrics. If you Google Craft Test Dummies and fabric stamping (I'm on my phone so can't post a clean link), she has a comparison of about ten different stamp pads on fabric before and after washing.

Versacraft is good or you can use acrylic paint with a textile medium.

Pigment Ink pads can be used on fabric. Let dry. Then dry on hot in the dryer to heat set. It's been forever since I've done this, but I'm picking up some onesies this weekend to do for my nieces (plural - I didn't just forget the apostrophe.) Also adirondack color wash and lindy stamp gang flat Fabio's are both fabric dies. As RiverIsis stated, acrylic paint with a textile medium is will work. They also sell fabric paint, my favorite is by Jacquard.

JoAnn's used to sell ink pads that were specifically for stamping on fabric. I haven't looked for them recently and don't remember the name. It might have been Fabrico or something like that.
