I've been working on uploading photos to Shutterfly. A task I haven't done since Christmas. I still have to go back on Facebook and download photos my friends have tagged the kids in, etc. plus print photos from a trip DS took in June with his grandmother that she emailed to me. Oh and not to be forgotten all the photos on my phone that need to end up in print form. I think the worst part of scrapbooking is dealing with all the photos!

It takes time, and time is often a rare commodity. But when I sit down and start looking through my pictures, sometimes it's really fun to see what pictures I was able to get and choose which ones are the best for printing and scrapping.
But fun or not, anything left undone for a long time can become an overwhelming job. I've been going through mine recently, too. I hadn't printed any in several months, either. I just went through one chunk of the job at a time.

I must agree, it is very difficult to keep up with printing photos. I went tonight and printed 209 photos so I am ready to go! I really need to discipline myself to print them more often.

That is what holds me up these days. Back when I was shooting film, I always had double prints made and ready to scrapbook. Now I take tons more digital photos and love that I can crop them and choose to print only the ones I want, but I never seem to have them uploaded to Shutterfly or other site to print them at the time there are sales and it seems to take so long to wait for them to upload; consequently, I rarely have current photos around.

I am right there with you.
I actually had my husband create a spreadsheet for me so I could keep up. I have a column for the date they were loaded onto the computer, one for when I edited them (deleted useless pics, took care of red eye, etc.), one for when I upload them to Snapfish & one for when I actually order the photos. It's overwhelming.
I am still working on photos from 2005.
And I have yet to have my husband teach me how to back up the computer. Should it crash, I will lose all my photos after that year.
Did I mention how overwhelming it is?

I feel your pain. I've been working on getting all my photos printed for the last few months. Just when I think I've got them all, I find more. There's so many more sources for them (like you said) and I just can't keep track of it all. I'm currently printing 2012 photos. I've done 2013, so after 2012, I just have this year's. And then I'll find more photos, of course.

It's overwhelming. I made a spreadsheet also - I included a column for when I scrap them (or decide not to) I have found that it's best, for me, to only print 100 or less at a time. Any more and I am get overwhelmed at the scrapping stage

I so far behind in printing photos I dread it. I am 2.5 years behind....ugh. Its such a daunting task to go through and edit and choose.
I used to be vigilant about printing every month. I don't know what's happened. The task just keeps getting bigger and bigger and I keep procrastinating.
I'll add it to my to do list for this summer....ugh!

I am way behind also. I have a Selphy so I can print right away but that is costly. I like to upload to shutterfly or Costco to print big events/vacations, plus as a second storage back up. Before I scrapped and digital, my photos were organized! In albums with copies and negatives in photo boxes by date. Now they are all over the place. I once printed photos twice getting ready for a retreat because I had forgot I had used snapfish because of a sale. Now only shutterfly or costco ory Selphy

I feel your pain! The only album I'm doing at the moment that requires printing is a PL one for my niece and I'm a couple of months behind. For the rest I'm just doing digital now which makes it a lot easier.

the other thing I find difficult these days too is I have pictures on so many media sources. Some are on Instagram, some on my iPhone, some I "steal" off Facebook from my kid's home pages. And some are on my camera. It's hard to keep track!
