I have a fun On-the-Go kit designed especially for Christmas. I've taken care of all the guesswork for you with design of the cards and the supplies. Just think how relaxed you will feel once the holidays come around knowing your Christmas cards are already done! Here is the kit for August. You'll receive all the supplies necessary to make 12 cards (3 designs, 4 cards).

I started making Christmas cards via a card challenge about 10 weeks ago. It's been fun and challenging!

I've just started planning them. I have one idea sketched out and couple of others floating around. When it comes time to make them - which for me is when NFL season starts - I pick the design that I like the best and make one card, tweaking it as I go. If it turns out that I like it, my assembly line card making process starts. But if it's not up to snuff, I'll pick a different design and start over. I pick one design and make all my cards the same. I tried one year to make a couple of different designs and I ended up hating them all so I stick with just one design now. The one card design concept also works for me because my first prototype card gets scrapbooked along with our family photo. Not only does it takes the guesswork out of scrapping christmas but I always have a copy of the card I sent out that year.

I get bored making same card which is why I like to make multiple designs.

Funny I was just thinking about getting them started, I like to make each one an individual design that way they feel the card was made especially with them in mind..or at least that's what my creative side tells me.

Wow!! I'm impressed. How many do you make if each one is unique? No way could I come up w/ that many designs. Haha!!

I originally thought I'd make a few Christmas cards each month this year and at the end of the year I'd have a bunch of individual cards.... Well fast forward to August 2015 and I haven't made one card for the holidays. I guess I need to start thinking about them.

A few years ago, I made cards for all my family and close friends. It took me 4 days and I fought with my Cricut non-stop (was probably the last time I attempted to use that machine for paper crafting) and did not enjoy it and no one really appreciated them (my SIL throws away all her cards - even handmade ones). So, I swore I would not do that again.
But, I'm considering it again this year. I have some ideas and think that I could simplify it and make it not seem so horrible if I find out people don't save their cards. LOL.

I said I would start August 1. Hasn't happened yet but I did start looking at my stamps and the list I made of designs last year that I didn't get to. I make no more than 6 of a design and then the boredom sets in.
I would like to be able to send the Caring Hearts Card Drive (for residents of nursing homes) 200 cards this year. And a local stamping friend and I are going to adopt the nursing home in town and supply them with 100 cards.
Someone please kick me to get me started!

I'd say I'll start in July or August and then procrastinate until November. haha!! My Christmas On-the-Go Kits has been a huge help to get my customers started on their cards early this summer.

I used to wonder what my friends and family did with my cards once they looked at them. It would hold me back from creating cards but I just had to tell myself to get over it. Creating the cards is what I enjoy the most (and of course, shopping...haha!!). Once I released that fear of "what happens" it's really made crafting fun for me.

No way! It's summer here and I refuse to do anything Christmas related I had very similar thinking... I was expecting it to be hard to get in the Christmas mode w/ 100*+ weather outside but it was actually fun. I had a class on Saturday at my house. I played Christmas music and the ladies had a great time working on their first batch of Christmas cards.

I started making Christmas cards via a card challenge about 10 weeks ago. It's been fun and challenging! How does your challenge work? Do you make a certain number per week?

For the past few years I have started in August or September. I have 4 or 5 designs. Last year I made about 100 cards. Mostly for the card swap here. I sent one to every pea on the list. Then I give them to a few co-workers and mail out about 10. I was hoping to do extras this year to give to a nursing home or someplace else that could use them.

I've got 2 days to myself; DH is out of town, DD is back in college so the process of starting to work on Christmas cards began today. I've had an idea planned out in my mind for weeks but getting what I see in my mind turned into the form of a card is not an easy process! When I sat down to get the "prototype" done, it came together exactly as I have envisioned, and I love it! For me that just never happens! Very little "tweaking" necessary! So now the "assembly line" process begins! I'm actually excited to get them going!!

I'm starting to think about it. I will make gift tags for my immediate family. Those ones are pretty elaborate as I save them afterwards and use them in my 2015 Christmas mini album. Then I make Christmas cards for everyone else in the extended family as we hand out gift cards.

The challenge has ceased due to lack of participation. However, I do make cards for a food bank in my local area. If anyone is interested in sending Thanksgiving or Christmas cards, please PM me. Thanks!

I will be traveling with my husband to a conference in Wendover, Utah/Nevada. If you are not a gambler, there is absolutely nothing to do there and no place to go, shop, etc. So each year I figure out a design I can easily replicate and I take all the supplies with me. I sit in the hotel the whole time, and when we return home I have 50 cards made. I have an idea, but nothing concrete yet. I have 3 weeks to decide and get the supplies on hand.

I make about 40, each a bit different, and start in October. If I average 10/wk, they are done by November.....and then it falls apart...I procrastinate sending them out, and then only get half-/3/4 sent out. SMH.....I'm such a Christmas card loser......sometimes they get sent out after the new year....

I procrastinate sending them out, and then only get half-/3/4 sent out Ugh, this is me! Or I get to December and think that they're really not good enough for public consumption so I, err, throw them out.
