Anyone remember that site? I think it was started around the time of the HOF scandal and was meant to be a place of positivity away from two peas. Is that correct? Seems to me it was all happy, happy, joy, joy like SC wants their boards to be. I don't know who ran it, but I know there was a store attached too. The newest SC manifesto made me think of that site and how hideously boring and pointless it was! I am all for having a positive outlook, but you can be honest and polite and respectful even if you are disagreeing with someone. I love it here because if you ask a question you get honest opinions on products, classes, kits, etc. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else remembered them and what happened to them!

I definitely remember the website. Can't think of who ran the website, would have to Google that fact, but she was definitely on trend and was a fun site. I recall it being a rather "edgy" site which was fun to see that style in scrapbooking. Pretty much at the beginning of scrapbooking videos, etc...which was new and fun to watch. I do recall one of the contributors to the SIStv was in some sort of controversy w/ CK HOF. Those were the fun days...haha!!

I do remember that site, although I only went and looked at it once or twice. I was active on the CK site back then, but not Two Peas. I think I do remember the gal who ran it, more because I remember her husband than I remember her. If I remember right, he had been in a band I was familiar with. That's all I remember though. It wasn't long after the HOF scandal that I left the online scrapbooking world and ended up taking a five year break from scrapbooking. When I came back to scrapbooking and back online, everything had changed. The only name I really remembered and thought to check out was Ali Edwards which led me to Project Life which led me to Studio Calico.

I remember it too. I think the person who started it had a J name. I never hung out over there because it felt inauthentic. But I was also privy to a conversation that wasn't meant for me to hear at a trade show and I was by what I heard. It actually had nothing to do with the woman who started it, just to be clear. But it made me not want to hang out over there.

Some members were trashing other members behind their backs after they were all hugs and smiles and photos to their faces. It was brutal (this was at CHA during the heyday and a lot of designers came to walk the floor and schmooze, get free product to use for getting published, etc.).
I was pretty naive back then and it was a big eye opener for me!

Had to pull away because this was meant to be my fun outlet, not more competition and stress. And I don't mean this as rude as it might sound, but I don't work with a lot of women. It was awful seeing catty stereotypes be true. Even now I hate hearing the manufacturing news / gossip because I want to play. But I get sucked in, human nature I guess.

I do remember it! I went to an event in Birmingham hosted by Scrap Etc. (a local scrap store - no longer in business, of course!), and SisTV was there filming. They thought they were rock stars - hilarious! It was a fabulous event though; I took classes from Stacy Julian, Jenni Bowlin, and the infamous Kristina Contes. Wow, that was 11+ years ago!!

That's where Amy Tangerine got started. I remember when she made their design team. She was more known for her t-shirts then.

Man...I missed out on a lot during my SB hiatus when I was so turned off by 12x12 trend. What is the HOF scandal?? I've read this referenced a couple of other times and have no clue. anonrefugee I agree - I wish I could just stick my head in the crafting sand and not care what's going on...I think it would be a lot easier to craft. Because the alternative is to get pissy when I find out what companies are really like and it turns me off from the craft.

To sum up the HOF scandal there was a rule that all the photos on the layouts entered had to be taken buy the person entering the contest and one person admitted they didn't take the photo, but two more were found out to have not taken the photo afterwards. Bernadette something or rather kept maintaining she took her photo of her white water rafting and it got down right ridiculous the more she tried to convince everyone. Kristina Contes was the other and she basically just told everyone to eff off. Check out the two peas history board most of the threads were saved. Good reading!

Kristina Contes was one of the designers too wasn't she? And some red head with lots of kids, I think? She was one of the ones that I think wanted to make it big but never quite succeeded.

Her name was Jeanette Herdman (spelling?) and she lived in Franklin Tn. Scrap in Style TV still has a few videos on Facebook and YouTube. Kayla Aimee started there... I tried to like it but it was just too "it girl" and clique-ish for me.

I started with two peas and moved over to sistv for a while, I felt I was too young and my style didn't really fit with two peas compared to the fresh and edgy sistv. It was such a fun and inspiring place for a while buuuut pretty soon the popular girls started taking over and it was just a high school clique with an us and them feel and personal jokes that only the in crowd would understand. I left and went back to two peas where I was much happier.

That was the beginning of the end of the Pub board when everyone flocked over there. I still have one of their kits. It came with pink popsicle sticks and colorful pipe cleaners. I remember the drama that went on between the owner and some of the design team members. A couple of them even blogged about it. Forgot the details tho. I liked looking through everyone's personal galleries but never cared for the forum format there.

I tried sisTV but it was too much sweetness (fake sweetness, at that) for me. Everyone "luuuurrrrved" everything under the sun. No one had an opinion on anything: just smiles and sunshine up your a$$. Then right before the implosion the founder's Daddy Gary (supposedly a lawyer) came on board and behaved very badly towards posters/mb members: that's no way to treat paying customers. Sis TV seemed to think they were oh-so-fabulous but I just didn't see any fabulosity there, just hubris--kind of like the Emperor's new clothes. I just didn't get it. I guess I was either too old or too old-fashioned to fit their demographic. It was sad and strange to see them come undone.

Maybe that's me Most often I think someone should do a case study featuring scrap businesses. So many have imploded while ignoring basic business practices- or common sense.

Oh gosh, I didn't know it imploded! That's crazy. Why were the DT and owners mad? I guess I figured it had just fizzled. I had no idea there was such drama!
I just googled Jeanette & saw she had some Bible-journaling type videos from years ago. Man, she was ahead of her time because that is really becoming hot for some parts of the industry.
