Does anyone know how to delete the pattern files that come with the Studio software? I did it before but can't recall where to find the files and most of them are just taking up space because I'll never use them and would rather import my own.

Just open up the patterns in the Studio library. Right click on the pattern and "delete". The entire folder of the pre -loaded patterns is only about 29MB - if you are trying to free up space - this won't make any difference. I have tons of patterns imported in my library - I love using them! Did you know you can create subfolders to keep them organized?

Thanks Iowgirl... but the preloaded patterns can't be deleted by right clicking. There is a folder buried deep within the software and for some reason the Silhouette people are not keen on letting us know where it is but I've located it before. It's not that I'm trying to free up the space, I would just like to get rid of the patterns that I will never use because they always are the first to appear within the pattern window. I love patterns too - I have loaded a bunch of my digital paper into the software, and yes, I've got them organized in subfolders too. I love that!

Well sure enough! I didn't look far enough in to see that the default fills aren't even listed in the library to delete!
Here is the path to the patterns file. C:\programfilesx86\SilhouetteAmerica\SilhouetteStudio\Resources\Resources\SPEC_SS\Patterns
I have actually used a few from time to time. I like that they are seamless and you can scale them way back. I use a lot of digital scrapbook paper, and that is usually not seamless.

Mine were fine with the update (upgrade is different than update) . I always do a backup (Library Export) every so often, and especially before I update, just in case! Love that feature I am pretty sure their will be some major updates coming soon with the new machines that are coming out this fall. I always wait several days before updating -just to make sure they get the bugs out.... but so far I have never had any issues with the updates (other than the first V3 update, which was a HOT mess! - but they fixed it fast)

I'll see if I can do a search for something similar and hopefully it'll come up! I know it's there... It's just buried! I have so many digi papers that I love I just can't imagine using some of those ones that are preloaded. Just not my style. Plus with all the shapes and patterns I have, removing the ones I will never use might actually speed up the program. I agree reed that there will be an update to the software when the new machines are available. I had so many issues the last time that I am definitely not updating until I know for sure that all is working perfectly!
