I really miss not having any scrap magazines. I know there are some on-line things, but I miss having a real magazine in my hands. I use pinterest and look at layouts on-line. It's just not the same. I miss reading articles about scrapping. Does anyone know of anyplace on-line that has articles?

I miss them, too! I was just thinking about it the other day. I was at the grocery store and without thinking started scanning the magazines by the checkout. That's where I used to always find Scrapbooks Etc. Then I laughed at myself, "Jeez, girl, it's been a long time since that was here!" Then I was sad As for online articles, I get my fix from blogs like Scrapbook Update, Ali Edwards, Cathy Z., etc. and I write about the scrapbook industry, products, etc on my blog. I'm also starting a scrapbooking membership site where I'll post lots of things from around the internet that are scrapbook related, have interviews, etc. I know we're all really feeling a void It won't solve our magazine jones perfectly tho' because the content will still be all online, just gathered in one place.

Since you are looking online any way check out Scrapbook Generation's magazine Create. There is also Jot magazine. Both are online but have articles.

Me, too, especially when on a road trip, or sitting on the beach. I really miss getting it in the mail. It was the only mail I ever get.

I love this one. And best of all, it's free if you read it online! You can subscribe and get a paper copy, I think. Ali and Cathy both have regular articles in it. www.scrapbookandcards.com/

I love physical magazines and totally miss them. It is sad the industry has gone through tough times the last few years. I am not a fan of digital versions of the magazines

Me too. I know there are a few decent digi ones but it's not the same. I used to love to find a cool spot or by the pool and read away in the summer. Or curl up with tea and blanket by teh fire in the winter. Just don't get that feeling with a kindle lol. I really do miss the paper mags. Waiting for it to arrive. Flippig through it quickly to see the highlights. Then sitting down and devouring every page. Folding back the pages I want to scraplift or techniques I wanted to try.

Me too! I'm mind boggled at the fact they are multiple magazines about every other hobby but paper crafting (scrapbooking... Cards etc) I was jealous the last time dh and I went to Chapters-Indigo and he walked out with 5 that related to his hobbies! 5!

This sums up the situation perfectly for me, too!

Even Hobby Lobby has apparently discontinued their magazine, and I always got at least one good idea from it. I asked a clerk this weekend about why the magazine had disappeared, and she didn't know.

I loved getting the magazines and hate the digi ones, just not the same. I am that way with books, too. Even though I love my nook, I love real books, too!

Ali and Cathy both have regular articles in it. www.scrapbookandcards.com/you can get a paper copy (for free) of scrapbook and cards if you happen to be close to one of the stores in their directory that carries a copy. you also receive a free copy (or at least you used to) with cocoa daisy kits. if you want to subscribe, you just have to pay for shipping. you can also order a bundle of back issues. hth!

I miss the magazines too. I'm currently throwing out my magazines from years ago and it is painful but I really want to be clutter free (one day). I'm amazed at how many I subscribed and purchased through the years but I enjoyed every one. If only you could see the post-it tabs on all the pages.

Add me to the list of people who miss real, paper magazines. I was at the pool today reading my Food Network magazine and wishing it was Creating Keepsakes. I used to spend time by the baby pool with scrap magazines. I miss having babies in the baby pool and I miss scrap mags.

I miss them too... Maybe that is why I cannot throw away any scrap mags from the past 10+ years ?

I miss them too but I've found the digi magazines and the direct sales catalogs look great on my tablet. Swiping and the nice color display (almost) makes up for the loss.

Add me to the list. There is still a Canadian scrapbooking magazine in print but it's not the same.

Love this one too...has both Jennifer McGuire and Cathy Zielske now. The only article I don't like is the "easy/detailed/expert" one. I think they mistake simple style versus complex/busy style for the beginner/expert label...and that's just wrong. It makes me bristle to be told that if I don't like as many layers or froufrou additions that I'm not an expert... What would Cathy Zielske say!?!?!

I have to say, I miss them too... I found some Memory Makers magazines from 2006 - 2007 at my local SB store, and bought, like, 5 of them, just to get the 'feel' of a magazine in my hands again. I liked Memory Makers because it had more 'theory' type of topics and scrapbooking specific decades, etc. and not just layouts that felt like manufacturing company ads, if you know what I mean. Looking at them now, some of the layouts would still work, even if the chipboard, distressing, etc. seems rather dated to my design tastes.
I know the Scrapbook Generation online store has an online magazine that's free... I'm interested in seeing what other people have replied to your topic.

I miss the magazines also and was looking at a few old CK and Scrapbooks etc. that I had saved. It was so nice to sit down with a cup of coffee and go through them again. I agree that some of the LO's would work, especially with updated supplies.

Me toooooo! I loved reading the paper magazines. I miss the advertisements, too, believe it or not! That's how I found out about new products. How are we supposed to find out about new things with no LSS and no magazines? Do the websites have ads?
