Hi all! I've gone to lots of Creating Keepsakes conventions and enjoyed the classes, the shopping and the crops. For those of you in the know, are the Scrapbook Expos kind of the same? I'm thinking about going to the one in October in Ontario, CA...

Yes I think the CKC and Expos I have been to have been similar.
When I lived in SoCal I went to Orange County and Ontario. Oh what fun! Now I'm in Tahoe and last year went to Sacramento a few hours away, not sure if it's the location or if the expos have shrunk in general, but it was crazy small. I still had fun but definitely different from the good ole scrapbook days.
Where are you in CA?

They are definitely getting smaller. I have only been to Anaheim and I hear that it is one of the biggest ones. It is much smaller compared to when I first started going.

I went to the Anaheim Expo and had a great time. It was my first time participating in the big make and take. The atmosphere was festive, I liked the goodies I got, and everyone was friendly. I haven't been to the Ontario Expo for at least 10 years. Last time I went, it was pretty small. I am planning to go anyway, if I can. I'm in major scrapbook mode right now, and will probably be suffering from "empty nest syndrome". It would be such a treat to stay at a nearby hotel and crop all weekend, but I have a hard time justifying that when I only live 30 minutes away.

I was thinking of going to Ontario just to shop the Authentique booth. I think they are supposed to be there. I went to Anaheim last March. Ontario should tide me over til the next Anaheim a Expo. It will be my first time to Ontario.

I did classes and the Make n Take crop in Anaheim one day and hit the expo floor the next day for more m&t's and shopping. Fun Stampers Journey passed out a nice stamp set. I wasn't able to get the lanyard and 'I conquered' button because I was behind one button. Thinking of maybe doing the card swap and a Melissa Francis class in Ontario. The Latest and Greatest class was underwhelming this year. It could have easily been called the stamp and card making expo. Then there's Hello Kitty Con happening around the same time, days apart. I'd like to take a class with Amy Tangerine and Paul Frank this year. What's there to eat at the Ontario Expo?

Thanks for all of your comments. I live in Washington but will be down in California visiting my daughter and son-in-law and saw that the Expo was going on at the same time at the Ontario Convention Center. My daughter will probably want to do a bit of vendor shopping but I'll do the classes by myself. I don't know if I'll do a crop because I'm a bit shy and am used to going with a group of friends, not by myself. As far as where to eat? There is an In-n-Out Burger a few blocks away! Probably no big deal to you Californians but there there aren't any in our neck of the woods so it's fun to go when we are down South!
