My mother used to make something called Burmese dish and it had Lipton Noodle soup mixture in it. I have had to go Gluten free and so I remade it to make it healthier.
5 oz. Sausage 3/4 cup long-grain rice 1/2 onion (Diced) 1 Green Bell Pepper (Diced) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 can chicken broth (14 ounce) or homemade broth 1 cup water 1 package slivered almonds (or raw almonds diced up)
Preheat oven to 350. On top of stove brown sausage in a pan that can go into the oven also. (I use cast iron). After the sausage is browned stir in rice, diced onion, & diced peppers. Cook 5 min. Add in salt, black pepper, chicken broth, and water. Stir together. Top with almonds. Put into the oven and bake for 40 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is gone.
Please let me know if this is good or not. I have cooked it several times and it has came out perfect for me, but I don't want to give it to family until someone else tries it. It serves 4.
