Have you seen the new idea over at Elle's Studio? They are setting up an exclusive kit mini classes complete with pdf files, etc. Seriously I am amazed that no one thought of this sooner and I'm sure this is going to attract a lot of new customers to their base. Especially since a certain kit club seems destined to alienate their customers, it looks like this studio will be there to give the scrappers what they want. Genius.
No, I don't work for Elle's and I am not a member of their kit club. But it looks like I might be changing my mind sometime soon. So, what do you think?

Interesting! Their kits are pretty! And the price is great - they are definitely smaller than other kits out there but at $12, that's not so bad. I didn't have too much time to look at everything else, so I"m not sure how much shipping is or what the commitment terms are.
The class is a good idea, though! How much of a good idea would probably depend on the price, though, as it looks like it will be an add-on purchase to get those inspiration files. Not a bad idea, though, if they raised the price a bit and just automatically included it. But they are definitely on the right track! Way to go Elle's Studio!

Wait--so you get a class with each kit? Guess I need to go read up about this! I'm looking to switch clubs to try something different.

I have a silly question though - isn't this the same concept as offering sketches, ideas, and demo teams with a kit?
Just checked it out, it does say it's a separate purchse from the kit.
I love Elle's Studio but I am on a freeze~

It's separate purchase for the Elle's class kit, an add-on addition to having DT gallery layouts, sketches and blog entries readily available to everyone. I agree if it was in the kit, it would be an amazing value. I would also love to see a kit preview (for any scrapbook kit club) that made their previews and sneak peeks look like an unboxing video. But I'm guessing if you had a vid like that, anything accidentally mispacked would cause a potential customer service nightmare.
It's been so interesting looking at all the links and kit suggestions everyone has been posting lately. It's so good to see there are so many options and styles out there and readily available. Of course, I'm carefully examining clauses, restrictions, commitment terms, and cancellation fees, in addition to all the scrappy goodness. It's really been eye-opening.

That's basically what Ali Edwards is already doing with her Story Kits. Besides her videos, each month she has guest designers do videos.

It's smart of them to draw attention to their monthly kits....even if people don't buy the class, I bet it will lead to more people buying when the kits is released on the 10th. (Not me though...I have too much unused Elle's studio in my stash).
Aside, how do you pronounce Elle's studio? I pronounce it like the name (last E silent) but recently heard a You-tuber pronounce the last E (long E sound). Have I been wrong all these years?

I hear some people say it as "Elle" and other pronounce it with the long E...but wouldn't it be spelled "Ellie's"?

I think it should be a silent e as in Danielle, but people in the know like Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire say ell-ie . So I guess you don't say it like it's spelled.

It it should be! meridon , I hadn't noticed that it was "people in the know" particularly so maybe it's meant to be mispronounced. Maybe I'll go to the Elle's studio site/blog later to see if there is any video with one of their DT saying it! (And, yes, as I type this, it has occurred to me that I might have too much free time on my hands this evening and should go scrap instead!)

On the YouTube videos produced by Avery elle , they are pronouncing it "L"
maybe those people who think they are in the know, are not as much in the know as They think they are!!

I spent some time looking for the correct pronunciation, too (I haven't found anything). LOL. I can't stand it when names (or words, in general) are mispronounced. Don't get me started on the especially/expecially or espresso/expresso issue I have.

Irregardless. I think expresso just means really fast.

The owner of the company pronounces it "Ellie's", but I'm still tempted to pronounce it "Ells" every time I see it!

That is a great idea by then! I always think their kits are cute but haven't bought one. They seem more for PL. Do people use them much on "regular" layouts?
