Flora, the youngest competitor, has almost exactly the same accent as me. I'm really enjoying this series and there are a few people I'd be happy to see win the title.

I really like Flora, and not just because of her accent. She is so capable and imaginative. But I think Tamal, Nadiya, Paul and Ian are all excellent too! At the moment, I really have no idea who might win. Nadiya seems to be improving every week, but Tamal is also coming to the fore.
Don't ask me - I know nothing!

I think at the moment it is quite open. It's funny, I spend about 4 times as much time watching cooking programmes as actually cooking.

My favourite accent this year was Sandy's - I could listen to her talk all day. That's what I really like about this show is the lack of egos and drama between the contestants.
I was on the website yesterday and saw this article about the guy who draws the bake pictures. Sounds like a fun job, drawing pictures of cakes!

That's what I really like about this show is the lack of egos and drama between the contestants. I totally agree. When the one lady accidentally swiped the other man's custard, they were all like "Oops, shit happens." Even the judges were nonplussed. If that were a US show, there would have been a massive throw down, the judges would have had a conference, and likely someone would have been disqualified.

Thanks for that read!! How interesting. I love his drawings, it's one of the best parts of the show. THIS was my all time fave creation in all 6 seasons.

Lord knows I've been trying! I keep setting up my DVR to record. The first time I got a show about muskrats, the second time it was Prince Charles walking around a garden, last night it was about the desert. I wish my PBS station would get its shit together.

So what are the feelings about Paul Hollywood? In the UK he is something of a heart throb and his "smutty" double entendres with Mary are often quoted in the media.
I certainly think if it was a choice between Paul (host) and Paul (contender) I'd stick with the host.

The more I see of Paul Hollywood the more I go off him! I did used to like him like most of the British females but I've had enough of him now. I still love GBBO mind you.

I've seen Paul Hollywood interviewed and he seemed very uncomfortable with his sex symbol status and obviously his lines etc are all scripted and rehearsed so he just comes across as a little uneasy/reluctant to me now, as if it's a role he's pretty much forced to play. He's nice looking but that's about it imo Looking forward to tonight's episode!

I do like Paul's judging style, I think he's honest but isn't needlessly critical for the sake of the cameras. However don't think he's sexy at all...especially not after I read about him having an affair with his American co-host. So he's obviously not immune to a bit of flattery, but luckily for him his wife took him back (I doubt I would). Perhaps that's why he looks a bit embarrassed and uncomfortable about suggestive jokes because he's already been caught with his hands in the cookie jar (so to speak...lol) and he figures for the sake of his marriage he better not go there again.

Paul Hollywood's eyes are dreamy. I love his hair too. He reminds me of a sexier Guy Fieri. That said, he is a cheater and has a reputation as a slimy, ladies man.
I've been watching Irish Bake Off. It's good. They do it differently than GBBO though. They do a signature bake and a technical one day, then the next it's a technical and a showstopper. It's weird after seasons where they do all three every week.

So..last night was interesting. I was SO sad to see Paul leave. I was sure it was going to be Flora.
I hated everyone's showstopper. I thought they were all clumsy looking and ugly. Not that they didn't try, but it was the actual task that was the reason. Unless you are a professionally trained pastry chef, I don't think that task was fair. It was too much for all of them. Plus, éclairs are not cream puffs and are not attractive in the least. LOL. It was like a traditional Croquembouche but elongated. Last year's showstopper was éclairs too but not a structure.
At any rate, I was really bummed for Paul. I hope Ian wins the whole thing now.

I knew it would be either Paul or Flora last night - and so did Flora. She sounded really surprised to be saved. I think I'm now hoping that Nadiya will win. She is so modest, and her face is so wonderfully expressive!

Yes I think Flora has reached her level now. It's getting interesting, I still wouldn't predict the winner.

I also thought Flora's tine was up! It was a shame for Paul though but he struggled this week. I agree imsirius, it was an ugly showstopper whichever way you look at it!
