DD is the reason I posted a couple weeks ago about fall new releases. I was glad there were lots to choose from because it made picking my papers easy. I went with the Simple stories collection from last year called Cozy Christmas. This will be my first after years of drooling over others.

This topic is certainly a mixed bag for me. I love all things Ali . I've done December daily from the start. But the SC kits...yikes! When she first started she put together her own kit from her stash and encouraged you to do the same. Then along comes the SC relationship. I already subscribed and loved S C. But I have been caught up in every single year's snafu. I don't have a single completed album from the years with S C. Mainly because I never got them in time. The upside down stars. The binder rings that didn't connect properly ( by the way the album that they finally sent me had the broken rings so the pages got hung up, plus I got the album about dec 15), the orange album that is supposed to be red but wasn't because they only looked at Pantone swatches and never had a prototype in their hands before the albums arrived from China very late. Then I had to pay eight dollars to get them to replace it with the white.happier with color of the white but terrified to leave it out where the grandkids can touch it.The list goes on...
Then the quality. Every year the price goes up and every year the quality goes down. What was in the first kit was amazing. Last year not.. SC is making everything printable so that are dirt cheap to make and not very unique or special.
Last year I came across someone's album that was made from a kit that she put together herself. It was white on white with gold. Stunning!!! And the pics just popped off the pages. I told myself that that is what I wanted to do this year and the way SC is running their business has reaffirmed my decision. I don't care how awesome the kit looks. Dealing with them leaves me cold. I don't need another album that needs to be finished thanks. As much as I love Ali it is SC is who we get the kits from.
The reason they are doing it now may have something to do with Ali wanting to make sure there is plenty of time to fulfill the orders. No more past deadline snafus.by the way she was very kind and sent me a print with an apology for all the troubles I had last year. She is a class act with miles of integrity. Just wish she wasn't with SC
My two cents for what it is worth.
By the way for anyone questioning if it is worth it- oh yeah! For me it helped to appreciate all the little things about the season, not just dinner and opening presents. As elf in chief the strain of getting it all done turned the holidays into a chore. DD helped me appreciate so many things that I was rushing past. Try it on some scale that fits your needs. You'll love it. Haven't met a single person who said they wouldn't do it again.

The next two guest designers are up!
decemberdaily.com
Peppermint's kit looks like my style. Ashley's is a little too trendy for me, but the colors and patterns do look fun. So far nothing I HAVE to have (so thankful...hahaha). I just looked back through my DD supplies last night and I have SO much left over from last year. I really think I'll be happy with just the main kit.

I'm not an Ashley G fan, as a rule, but that roller stamp is pretty cool. Peppermint's kit is really pretty and has a great color scheme and a vintage feel to it. But, since they refuse to tell us any price range (why? why won't they give a price range? I don't get it...I actually spend MORE money when I know what something costs ahead of time because I'm able to plan and save for it!), I will probably be skipping the mini kits and sticking with the main. I also have leftovers from last year's kit + the extra pieces I purchased from Bo Bunny so I think I'll be good with the main.

I'm sure they want people to fall in love with the product first. Then people will be willing to pay any fairly reasonable price once that's announced. Otherwise, if they show a preview and say it's $15, people will say all the things they usually say (not enough product for the price, too much money for a mini kit, whatever).

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE both new sneaks and I rushed over here to see what other people thing. I will be getting all 3 so far, that's for sure. I won't be using any blue in my DD this year but the black and gold is awesome. I'm certain to pull blue back in at some point and it's not like paper goes bad.
So excited about these!!!
And I have to admit that even though I'm hardly rich, I don't mind forking over cash for DD supplies because these books are priceless to me. Just priceless. And in order to be able to finish them every year, I have got to be inspired and playing with fun supplies is so inspiring. I can't wait to see the whole kit.
And I'm also really glad that I haven't liked any christmas lines that have been released yet this year except a couple of sheets of paper in the new October Afternoon line.

I really wish there was some pricing information at this stage as well - I need to be able to budget in advance. Having said that, I love Ashley's and Peppermint's kits. - Ashley's was the one that surprised me the most. But I still have stuff left from last year's kit so am not sure how many purchases I can 'justify'

I really need to pull out my DD box and see what I have left and what I would actually use. I'm sure I could do without buying anything this year but I want to see Ali's kit before making any crazy statements.

I love love love Ashley's! So versatile, simple, pretty. I'll be getting just one mini kit because I'll be on a tight budget. Unless the main is truly amazing. You ladies think it'd be "enough"? My PL spreads are usually photo heavy and I journal quite a bit, too.

i really do like peppermint's kit…it is exactly my style and colours. sigh. does anyone know if we must buy ali's big kit in order to purchase the minis or are they all a la carte items?

I didn't think I would really like Ashley's, but I do. Also loving Peppermint's. I was hoping I wouldn't get sucked in this year. Sigh...too late I really really wish we could get a price hint though.

My PL spreads are usually photo heavy and I journal quite a bit, too. Are you just doing DD within your PL? And not doing a "daily" style documentation? If so, then yes - I think it's possible that a mini kit could be enough. My guess is that the mini kits are going to be pretty...well, mini. Like, maybe a small sampling of papers and journaling cards and small embellishments. If you're going to do DD full on - with a daily documentation of your month and holiday season then based on what I've seen, I just don't think 1 mini kit will be enough. Unless you have a giant stash you're supplementing with. I don't want to be major enabler here - I, of all people, completely understand tight budgets - but if the main kit is anything like kits in the past, it's going to be awesome. Ali is top notch (presuming she hasn't let SC completely take over her style) and her kit is going to be no different. I always make sure to have money stashed so I can afford her kit.

My PL spreads are usually photo heavy and I journal quite a bit, too. I'm thinking a mini kit could work if you supplement it with some patterned paper. If you bought 5-6 pieces, cut down, they'd help stretch the mini unless the kits are really small (as in, the same size as a PL add-on kit). Kelly Purkey does themed kits that have quite a few cards (20+). I'm hoping these minis are more that size vs SC add-on size (12 cards). Those are small but expensive.

I love the Ashley Goldberg sneak and will likely get it. The Peppermint one is too Christmassy for me, but I am glad those who want really Christmassy stuff will have that mini as an option.

Ashley's kit looks to have at least 31 cards (numbers), maybe more. Unless those patterns are on the back of the numbers.

If I *had* to buy one today, I would pick Peppermints' kit. Personally I would love one in a more red/white combo - I suspect Ali's might be more in that color scheme.
I have bought the SC kit every year that they have had one.
And they are always a craptastic headache & I have no doubt Ali is putting pressure of SC to get it right this year.

What price range would you guys guess the mini kits will be? Do you think it will be priced as SC add on kits ranging around $25-30? Looks like the kits includes 3x4 and 4x6 cards/paper and some embellishments. Really would like to get a clue what to expect so I can plan ahead a bit, and not be bummed out by the price when preorders start...

I just had a look at last years main...and yep, it's pretty awesome. <3 I'm still debating but this being my first DD I may do it within my PL because I can't bear the thought of spending that much money and then leaving the project unfinished. Still...that main kit is so pretty, if this year's is anything like it I'm gonna be in big trouble. I can get the main IF I don't get the Fuse and other stuff I'd planned to buy in winter. I'm already crunching the numbers just in case haha I appreciate your input as I know you are a DD pro

I hadn't crossed my mind to compare them with SC add-ons, how silly of me! If they're too small and as expensive as an add-on it won't be worth it, clearly. Better to get the main. I hate uncertainty. ¬¬U

I thought "Peppermint" was the name of the kit/line; I had no idea that was the designer's real name, lol. So far, I like KP's kit the most. Still not going to buy it, but I like it.

If Ali's kit will again be in the $100 range, I'll guess the mini kits are $22 to $28.

Really would like to get a clue what to expect so I can plan ahead a bit, and not be bummed out by the price when preorders start... I think the price will depend on if there's a stamp in the kit or not. If no stamp, my guess is going to be in the $15 range. If a small stamp (or roller stamp like we saw in Ashley G's sneaks) is included, add $10. I'm going to guess the main kit will be around $100 (hoping it stays in this ballpark as that is what I'm saving for). I'm hoping she doesn't shrink her kit to help "encourage" people to supplement with mini kits.

I really hope we won't have to buy Ali's kit in order to buy a mini. But I have a feeling that will be the catch. I also hope that the DD kit will come with a choice of album or no album. I personally don't care for the 6x8 size. And I've noticed people gravitating towards the 9x12 and 8.5x11 sizes in their scrapbooking. Also, some people who do PL could just add the pages to their album. Or if you are like me, you have a "holiday" album that you add to each year. I love having all the years in one place. It's so cool to compare years with just a flip of the page.

I'd love a "no album" Ali main kit option.

Ali's kit (or maybe one of the mini kits) are going to have to really knock my socks off for me to buy it. Also, I noticed on the timeline there is no date of when they will ship. Surely this won't be an issue...again.

I would really like some advance notice of pricing but am guessing that's not going to happen. How much was last year's kit - I just remember thinking it was too expensive

Is there a site or blog with all the 2015 Xmas lines?
I started a new thread if you want to add lines to it. I put up the ones I know about.
