It just baffles me to think of any one voting for him. I am sick of how overly pc things have gotten. No I don't want to offend someone but it seems someone always takes just about everything the wrong way. Now there are racist sexist jerks out there and there is no excuse for that but sometimes people take things the wrong way and seem to just look for something where there isn't any malicious intent.
I like the idea of not being so politically correct but he seems to go out of his way to say hurtful things. I don't know a single republican that can stand him.
Keep hoping he will crawl back under his rock. He thinks he is attractive lol that has to be one of the funniest things he has said yet. Not even when he was younger lol.

The Donald is making it interesting. I think one of the many reasons he is ahead of everyone is that the country actually is enjoying watching an alpha male who can't be bought. Between Obama who is so skinny and not exactly macho in his mom jeans and John Kerry with his effete mannerisms and man servant who lays out his jammies and slippers every night...it's fun to actually watch a guy with a take no prisoners attitude as he thumbs his nose at political correctness. I watch FOX regularly and for three weeks before the debate, it was way toooooo apparent that they were out to kill Trump's run. Both The Five and The Journal Report were saying terrible things about him...and totally dismissing him for weeks.
I would rather have an intelligent, capable, diplomatic president than a misogynistic, boorish so-called "alpha male" with no political experience for president.
Mom jeans? Really? That's where we're at?
Trump is a straight up idiot. I don't care if he "can't be bought." He also doesn't have the skills necessary to be a president.
Anyone ever see the movie Idiocracy? I'm pretty sure this is how that movie started.

Hahahahaha! I LOVE using that movie as a reference! "Welcome to COSTCO. I love you."

Out of curiosity, what does "not so politically correct" look and sound like?

I'm not sure that I would trust an online poll by Survey Monkey. It's not stratified, etc.
BTW, I wouldn't characterize Donald Trump as an alpha male and if you are in to going by appearances, how do you get past his comb over? Also, I think you mean "Dad Jeans" and not "Mom Jeans".

I said this on another thread, but I am much more concerned about people who support (and defend!) Trump than I am about Trump.
Sadly, this thread has not assuaged that worry.
Alpha male = can't be bought?" Wha-huh? I hate to hear what the word "female" equals. It's bad enough that millions of men are virtually high-giving each other over this guy's boorishness and misogyny. Now WOMEN are characterizing his cretinism as something to be admired 'cause it's - what? - a refreshing antidote to political correctness?

the way you are all expressing disgust and "I can't believe republicans would vote for him" is the exact same way I feel about Hillary and dems
And yet, there are a lot of Republicans here expressing equal disgust for his antics. You won't find many Democrats who hate Hillary.
I believe your dislike of Hillary is politically based. If she were the Republican nominee, I'm betting you could find it in your heart to vote for her.
My dislike of Donald is based on his grossly uncivilized behavior. I wouldn't vote for him even if he were the Democratic candidate and running against Ted Cruz or Mike Huckabee.
He would end up blowing up the world during one of his tantrums.
Are you a mind reader lucyg :grin:That is exactly what I thought a few days ago. Heaven help us all if he gets to be on the world stage! The thought of someone like him having his finger on that red button is quite terrifying!!

There is no way in hell I would ever vote for Hillary. I would not vote for a person just based on party affiliation as I believe you recently said you would do in a different thread (if that wasnt you I apologize). There are a lot of Republicans here expressing disgust for him because they aren't blind, you wont find many Dems who hate Hillary because they look the other way or wont even bother to read an article if it paints her in a bad light.

You are correct that I have said I will vote for whoever is the Democratic nominee. I wouldn't if it were Donald Trump, though ... not that the I would have to worry about the Democrats ever nominating the current incarnation of Donald Trump!
As for the rest of it ... I think Hillary is a politician. None of them are perfect. But she's intelligent, well-educated, experienced, hardworking, thoughtful, pragmatic, believes mostly the same way I do, and I will happily and proudly vote for her.
You can continue to insist that your hatred of her has nothing to do with her political affiliation.
ETA If you claim it's about something like Benghazi, of which there isn't a shred of evidence to support any of the Republican accusations, I'm going to circle back to politics. Every Republican president has presided over some awful attack or incident worse than Benghazi and there is never a peep from the Republicans about it.

I see women (Megan Kelly included) make crass and sexist remarks about men all the time. They are rarely called on it.
I don't know Megyn very well, but she seems professional. What crass sexist remarks did she make (or other women in journalism--I'm assuming that's who you're referring to and not just all women in the whole world)? Anyway, I agree with whichever pea said it is different with a presidential candidate. If Hilary or Carly were saying that Chris Christie is a fat pig and it's no wonder his wife cheats on him since he's a disgusting animal, then I would find her equally repulsive. And no, I'm not saying his wife cheats on him, I'm just using one of Trump's favorite go-tos (the woman that can't keep her man happy).
I get tired of people wanting to excuse Trump's behavior by trying to say he's just being honest or he's doing things that we would accept from other people. No, no, no! Please see his behavior for what it is and stop making excuses for him!

Don't kid yourself. I think the majority of Democratics know just exactly what the baggage is associated with Hillary. Some she brought on herself and some manufactured by others.
However on her worst day she is still better qualified to run this country then the gaggle of 17 the Republicians are saying are their best and brightest.

Thanks, I will because its the truth. I didnt dislike Obama when he was running, my mom is a dem and so are most of my friends and he was a likeable guy. I don't know if its because Im older, wiser, or just because Hillary is that bad that I cant stomach the thought of her being the president for the simple fact of how untrustworthy she is. I dont know why you are trying to generalize my hate for Hillary because of the party I tend to agree with, I guess its because that's what you do? That is not the case for me
At this point I hope that Trump will loose steam .(one can hope) Because he will get more hostile in the debates. He will get more uncomfortable with the questions. At least i can hope. It would be nice to see him get uninvited to more events.

I'm not sure this is the case, actually. In the thread I posted a week or two ago, there were many Democrats who do not like Hillary and would prefer another candidate. Without going back to tally, I'd say it was somewhere between 33% - 50%. IMO, that's enough to void your claim that "you won't find many Democrats who hate Hillary".

Have you had the opportunity to examine Hillary's email server that she shouldn't have been funneling the emails belonging to the people of this nation.

Like her dislike her she is still more qualified than the gaggle of 17. In the end that is what is more important.

I'm one of those Democrats on your thread who doesn't like her. But I don't hate her. I will vote for her if she is my party's nominee because she is competent and qualified and I agree with her on most of the issues.

Not anymore than I was able to in 2007 when this happened with nary a gnashing of teeth -
The Bush White House email controversy surfaced in 2007 during the controversy involving the dismissal of eight U.S. attorneys.
Congressional requests for administration documents while investigating the dismissals of the U.S. attorneys required the Bush administration to reveal that not all internal White House emails were available, because they were sent via a non-government domain hosted on an email server not controlled by the federal government. Conducting governmental business in this manner is a possible violation of the Presidential Records Act of 1978, and the Hatch Act. Over 5 million emails may have been lost or deleted. Greg Palast claims to have come up with 500 of the Karl Rove lost emails, leading to damaging allegations. In 2009, it was announced that as many as 22 million emails may have been deleted.
The administration officials had been using a private Internet domain, called gwb43.com, owned by and hosted on an email server run by the Republican National Committee, for various communications of unknown content or purpose. The domain name is an acronym standing for "George W. Bush, 43rd" President of the United States. The server came public when it was discovered that J. Scott Jennings, the White House's deputy director of political affairs, was using a gwb43.com email address to discuss the firing of the U.S. attorney for Arkansas. Communications by federal employees were also found on georgewbush.com (registered to "Bush-Cheney '04, Inc.") and rnchq.org (registered to "Republican National Committee"), but, unlike these two servers, gwb43.com has no Web server connected to it — it is used only for email.
The "gwb43.com" domain name was publicized by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), who sent a letter to Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Henry A. Waxman requesting an investigation. Waxman sent a formal warning to the RNC, advising them to retain copies of all emails sent by White House employees. According to Waxman, "in some instances, White House officials were using nongovernmental accounts specifically to avoid creating a record of the communications." The Republican National Committee claims to have erased the emails, supposedly making them unavailable for Congressional investigators.

I did some googling and reading, because honestly, I forgot about this happening 8 yrs ago. I would say it's different in several ways, but I know many here don't want to hear how it's different and it will sound like nothing but excuses.
So with that said, I'll simply leave you with a quote.
"Our Constitution is being shredded. We know about the secret wiretaps, the secret military tribunals, the secret White House email accounts,” Clinton said. “It’s a stunning record of secrecy and corruption, of cronyism run amok. It is everything our founders were afraid of, everything our Constitution was designed to prevent.” - Hillary Clinton
So she shredded GWB for doing it (although his staff used personal AND private emails...whereas Hillary used ONLY private...but any private use of emails that are the property of the people of the US is wrong) yet she goes on to do EXACTLY THE SAME THING.
Not to mention good ol' Lois Lerner and the accidental "loss" of all those emails.
