I need to repaint. I just don't know what color to do. I looked on Pinterest but so many ideas have white base board, and or trim. I'm not painting all that plus the oak staircase.....
So if you have pictures that would be great, and color names would be great also.
Thanks.

Do you mean in your kitchen? Why would you also need to paint the staircase? I'm confused!

No real ideas for you, but I wanted to stick my nose in her cause I'm curious too. . I have the white trim but still have trouble finding a color to go with. Currently the walls are a light tan / cappichino color. It looked pretty good 8 years ago, now I'm getting a little tired of it. What color are your walls now?

I have oak baseboards and crown molding. This is Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray. I have other colors in other rooms, but this is the one I have a picture of.

Following this thread. We redid out kitchen about 2 yrs ago. We broke out the wall between the kitchen, and I guess what could have been called the parlor, and made it in to a bigger room. My kitchen cabinets are oak, with all oak trim in the house. Floors are birch. We painted the walls a grey from Sherwin Williams, and I do NOT like it with all the oak colored trims, and cabinets.

We have oak everything in our house because of the age ... our walls are a tan colour and even though we've had them for years I still love the colour ... I think it is Sheepskin by Behr ... it's probably not even available anymore Here's dd#2 in front of a couple of the walls:

We have Softened Green by Sherwin Williams. It goes from our kitchen to dining room to living room to hallway. I love it!

I have oak trim and cabinets but mine are stained very dark. Between espresso and black. My walls are painted a couple different shades of pale gray. I love it OP are you talking about oak that's stained the honey colored?

We have a brick red that works well with the oak. I would like to tell you exactly what it is, but it was here when we moved into the house.

our walls are oat straw by behr. depending on the lighting, it can look khaki, green, or tan. I love it, and it seems to go with everything décor, furniture and trim/cabinet wise. we have an accent wall of river jade (a blue, not sure of brand of that one) and it goes nice with everything.
ETA I'm not trying to show off my clock, just had this pic of oat straw next to our oak trim. it makes the color of the trim look a bit more rich, IMO.

We went with a chocolate brown. I can't remember the name of it but it's Sherwin Williams.

You will want to pick a color that goes with the undertones of the oak, which are probably warm.
I am thinking why Cindy doesn't like her gray is that it is probably a cool gray while the oak is warm.

My old house had oak floors and cabinets. It needed something creamy or with a touch of yellow. Beige, khaki, grey, greige, etc all looked horrible with it. I would go with something like Leeann posted - that has a touch of yellow that goes nicely with the warm oak tones.

I had a similar cabinet/trim color at my old house and painted an accent wall in the kitchen in a very similar shade of green. Loved it!

A yellowish color was our first choice but after looking at oak cabinets/trim with yellow paint on houzz.com I decided I didn't like a warm/warm combo.

Our previous house had oak cabinets. I painted the kitchen a light green I think it was called Rejuvenation by Behr but they probably changed the name by now.
