Pretty sure I won't have access to a microwave where my class has moved to. So...hit me with your favorite thermos to keep things HOT...like really HOT.

I have the thermos model a couple of years older than this one and it was exactly what I was going to suggest. I have always thought it was amazing (so much so I bought a second one to have *just in case.) I didn't realize how much though until this weekend. My mom just got a Yeti travel mug and my thermos brand kept my coffee hot longer than her Yeti did (we both got coffee out of the same pot at the same time with the exact same amount of half and half.) If that isn't a comparison that tells you how long it keeps things hot (and cold) then nothing will...

Not looking for something to have a hot drink in. I should have been clearer. I'm looking for a thermos type container for soup or left overs. Any ideas?

stainless steel thermosThis is similar to what DS used in elementary school. The key to keeping the food hot was to put boiling water in it while I heated up the food so the container started out hot- I also heated the food to a hotter temp than I would if I were serving it right away.

Keeps my tea hot forever. I have to take the top off for it to cool down enough to drink.

I've been using a stainless steel thermos (Thermos brand) I got at Target, umm, maybe 5 years ago? It's about 20 ounces. I put my coffee in it in the morning at 8am and I have sometimes still had warm coffee at 5pm... I've opened it at like 2pm and still had steam. I think you just have to go with that whole insulated, double wall system thing and you will b good.

I know the Yeti coolers are far and away superior to your average cooler, and we both expected that same kind of experience with the travel mug. When my coffee was still hot and hers was lukewarm, we were both surprised and I took the yeti mug off my Christmas wish list.

I've been researching thermos products to find a good one and from reviews I've read, sometimes you get a bad one, eg two kids will have the same lunch thermos containers for school, but one complains of cold food. I think it's kind of luck of the draw. I ended up biting a vintage thermos at a yard sale, still in the box, as i see the most complaints about newer thermoses.

I was going to recommend the same thing. It's fantastic. I looked at this while ordering my Flask. I think it said its good for up to three hours? Anyone really know if it stays hot for longer?

I don't use it as much now that I work from home, but I'd routinely pack it at 7:30 and eat lunch around noon and it was still hot.

They must have redesigned it or something, because mine is about two years old. However, it has the colored outside like the bottles, not all stainless like the one on the site. And the lid is plastic like the lids on the bottles. So, obviously, mine's different, but I presume based on my experience with the old one and with the bottles, that the new one will be equally awesome.
