This weekend, mom was telling me how awesome it is. Not gelatinous or mushy at all.
If you use it, what recipes/dishes ? And which brands or other suggestions do you have?

We do 'chicken melts' with canned chicken sometimes (I think Maple Leaf brand - the chunks, not flakes). Mix it with mayo, garlic powder, and chopped green onions, scoop onto English muffin halves, top with cheddar cheese and broil until melted. The idea of chicken in a can squicks me out in general but I like it a lot this way.

I used it once years ago. If I remember it is the consistency of canned tuna. However, it is almost as quick to boil a breast and a whole lot cheaper. So no I don't use it.

I have. Can not remember the brand off the top of my head but it was pretty good. I used it in a buffalo chicken dip for a holiday party.

I don't use it often, but it is convenient to have on hand.I've only used it in casseroles, not by its self (like chicken salad).

For a couple of years I canned turkey in early december to take advantage of the thanksgiving turkey sales. I have 3 cup jars and it was the perfect amount for a meal. One turkey would get me about 6 jars of meat plus 5 quarts of home canned broth. I used my pressure canner. Those were so great to have around for quick meals. I could grab a quart of broth and can of turkey and throw together turkey noodle soup in less than 20 minutes. I also make a cream of turkey soup with fresh thyme that I enjoy. We also liked using it for gringo chicken enchiladas (that white version that came out of Utah.) You could make real chicken enchiladas if you prefer, of course. It makes good "chicken" salad too.
It just takes a cheap turkey and a day when you have a few hours free to watch the pot. There's not a lot of hands on work to it.

I've added apples, celery, onions, (plus everything u guys said) too! And yes I used canned chicken. I've also made buffalo chicken dip with it, too.

I know a lot of people who put it in their emergency (read: hurricane) kits. If you don't have power, boiling up a chicken isn't going to happen, but if you have a can of chicken, instant rice and a can of sterno, you can cook at meal.

The Costco Kirkland brand is very good.
I wouldn't use it for anything but chicken salad, but it makes a nice one.

I use it when I make Chicken Tortilla soup, Buffalo Chicken dip, and my quick version of Chicken Pot Pie. It isn't anywhere near as disgusting as I once thought it was. "Real" chicken is better but when you're slinging hash on a week night it is much faster to open a can and go from there.

Yes, for chicken salad. We also always bring a couple of cans along when we go camping for foil dinners with Italian salad dressing, veggies, and potatoes. I like having it already cooked instead of handling raw chicken without access to hot running water.
