I work (as a civilian) with law enforcement. Law enforcement officers are human. They will occasionally kiss each other. I suppose I would try to gather information from the caller if there has been OTHER activities than kissing. I don't see how two people with the same workplace, kissing each other is a criminal offence...? Especially considering it is not AT the actual workplace. Encountering the situation described in the essay would definitely be awkward. But is the unethical option here be to not do anything because they are coworkers? In my few weeks working with law enforcement I have already experienced the 'human nature' of my coworkers. And also learned about it through others; I was looking for a tape measure, and one of the people in the crime lab found me one. Then he attached it to the BIGGEST manila tag, and told me ' You write your name on this baby in permanent marker. I lost all of my illusions about cops behaving like they know better, a long time ago'
