We're hosting a cookout this weekend and I'm second guessing the menu. Can you please look it over and tell me if I have enough variety?
apps chips and salsa texas caviar fruit and dip
meal bbq chicken pulled pork corn on the cob cole slaw mac & cheese bbq beans
dessert apple pie peach pie
Thanks!

The only thing I'd do is add a simple green salad.
Where's my invite, I'm hungry!

I would add another salad of some sort ... I really love Alyson's Broccoli Salad from allrecipes.com Or you can add the famous bagged lettuce salad

Oh yeah, a green salad or something veggie. Great idea! I've made a broccoli salad before, I'll check to see if this is the same one or different. It would be so fun to have a refugee bbq....!!

I would add a veggie tray. And replace the apple pie with a summer fruit. And add some sort of cream pie to cover all taste buds. Jen

It definitely needs some vegetables IMO.

I would add in a green salad too, with a French dressing.

The Peas are so smart! Veggeis and a variety of desserts. I didn't even mention the drinks, they are iced tea, lemonade, apple juice, water, beer, wine. Any other changes I should make, please let me know, you're helping me! Thanks again!

You have coleslaw, so I wouldn't bother with a green salad. Just make sure it's fresh and lightly dressed.
I think your menu is perfect the way it is. If anything, it's too much food.

The original menu looked wonderful, but adding a simple green salad would be great. Enjoy!!

I agree with the green salad recommendation. I also don't eat cooked fruit, so I would pass on dessert.

If the coleslaw had a vinaigrette type dressing I'd be okay without a green salad, but if it's a creamy coleslaw then a green salad would be good... For those that don't like pies, what about brownies or cookies... More of a nibble type dessert... And I'm another one checking for my invite Sounds wonderful

I feel like the salsa and Texas caviar are somewhat redundant, so I would probably add something else for an appetizer. Not saying I would get rid of either of those things, but I would have something that didn't involve tortilla chips.

I think it looks fabulous as is but if you want to add something, consider brownies for dessert along with the pies.

I would add a veggie tray for the apps and omit on of the pies and add the fruit tray with dip there.

Yes to the green salad with a variety of salad dressing inuding low cal or the Brocolli salad. Cookies or brownies would be nice. Some people do not like a mayo based food and would prefer more low cal.

Great menu, lots of variety. I agree with the others who suggested a simple salad. I would have also suggested a fruit salad as an alternative to the heavier pies, but you mentioned fruit and dip in the appetizers - could you do that as a dessert instead?

I don't eat BBQ meat so I'm not the best person to ask, but the only thing I would be eating would be fruit. I would definitely add a salad.

I would add brownies or something chocolate to the dessert menu.
