I have no opinion of Hillary, but the list is funny. Last week at happy hour the running joke was "don't worry I won't Bill Cosby you". I do read the comments under newspaper articles because I learn a lot more about the story, but it does attract a lot of crazies as well. Tom Brady's personal emails were recently released to the public so I don't blame Hillary for not wanting to release hers to the authorities.

I'd like to request a Political Board so people could spew their hate somewhere else. I really liked that until recently there were very few political posts here, mostly because they usually turned nasty on the old site. It is my opinion that if you can't state your political beliefs calmly, or more importantly listen to opposing beliefs just as calmly, and then have the ability to discuss your differences without name calling and general nastiness you need to learn to listen to both sides and if you can't I suggest you should find a better outlet than this welcoming board of women sharing the joys, sorrows, and the general chaos of daily life. I think the world would be so much better if we really learned to listen to each other. Think about how much you could advance your cause if what you stated your opinion without anger, hatred, and petty name calling. Just saying. Anyone who doesn't want to read the political threads doesn't have to open them. Politics brings out passion, and sometimes that isn't calm. Life isn't calm. Life is chaotic, and unless you haven't noticed, these discussions have been happening for almost 10 years among the same group of welcoming women and men. I'm sick of hearing the complaints about political threads. Its the main reason I continued to post at 2peas and the reason I continue to come here. If people don't want to participate they don't have to, but among the crockpot recipes and duggar threads I would say there is a place for political threads as well. The political board at 2peas didn't fair very well at stopping political threads from the main NSBR board. Just saying.

Hilarious list.
I think a political board would work about as well as me trying to stay away from political threads.

Tom Brady is a celebrity/sports fan, a private citizen. His personal emails belong to him. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State and responsible to the citizens of the United States. In her official capacity as SOS there is no such thing as personal emails. She knew this going in. She deliberately broke the law. She has deliberately attempted to circumvent the hearings by destroying government property (her hard drive). She therefore has something to hide.

She has deliberately attempted to circumvent the hearings by destroying government property (her hard drive). She therefore has something to hide. Agreed. We had a very similar situation here in my town a few years ago, with members of our City Council using their personal or even their business email accounts to conduct official City business. Some underhanded dealings were uncovered and the City needed to get to the bottom of it. The Council members who had been using their personal and business email accounts refused to turn over the contents. Subpoenas had to be served, and the whole thing became a big scandal, which could have all been avoided if the members had not used their private accounts. In Hillary's case this is an even bigger deal, as top security emails were sent through unsecured channels. That to me is a huge deal. Too bad if she doesn't want her personal stuff exposed. She should have thought of that when she mixed up her business and personal life. I thought the list was funny! Not even in a directed-at-Hillary kind of way, but just generically about anyone you don't trust.

Seriously, calls for a Political Board already? Not to be a smart-ass, but what happens to you all who click on obvious political threads, just to complain about political threads? Does some force take over your body, making you click on the thread, & then read it?
I mean, GAJenny, that's some wicked power you have there. Do try & control yourself, forcing people to read political stuff.

I'm not going to comment on the list, which is just more Hillary hate. But I wanted to say that I've found the comments sections of any online news site are pretty scary places. I look at them occasionally and they seem to attract the most semi-literate crazies on both sides of the aisle (not that this list is semi-literate, just ridiculously snarky). I would not consider the comments section representative of the country as a whole in any way. If the comments on a Yahoo article are a correct representation of our country, we are FUCKED.

One way to ignore the political threads and other ones of no interest is to select the thread by checking the box next to the thread title. Then you select the drop down box on the right that says Action under the NSBR Resurrected heading. Choose Mark as Read, and then choose Forever. The threads will keep coming up to the top of the page but it won't indicate there are new posts. I don't mind political posts, but by the end of page 2 they are usually derailed. It usually ends up with Democrats suck/Republicans suck. This country is going to hell if a Democrat/Republican becomes president. ETA: I've rarely read anything of great value on the political threads on 2 peas over the years, so you're not missing much by skipping them. They are usually way too polarizing for my tastes. It's a good way to waste time when you are bored though.

For those getting shitty about 'political' threads and those getting even shittier about those requesting another place for political threads.....so many of you are all over 'oohh, been a member since 1066, seen it all, been there, done that'........so, you should at least recognise that this tedious crap ramps up months and months before the actual election and some are more bored by it than others! Personally, although we do see personal attacks and issues over here between forum members on various sites, I love to see and laugh at the vacuous responses people make to each other so am happy to have the good, bad and ugly all on the same page!

Mad props for the Battle of Hastings reference! Beyond that, it surprised me because this is a "free" board, unlike 2Peas. I understood when the owners did indeed create Political Board, it could have influenced their business. I never understood it from individual posters, how hard is it to not click on a thread that is obviously political? Though I also remember people up in arms about having a Games Board, so maybe people just like to complain.

The list was clearly meant to be humorous. I don't think we need a political board. It's easy enough not to open a thread that is clearly political. I do think some people can't handle a disagreement without name calling or insulting the other person. It's a shame, because it makes the individual seem childish.

I agree, why? Again, not meaning to sound snarky although I'm sure I do but just do not open political threads. If someone titles their thread "favorite type of cheese to use for grilled cheese?" and then starts talking about the election in the first post...well then that might be basis for a complaint. lol. But otherwise it's usually pretty easy to tell which threads are going to be political and which ones aren't. That would be awesome...kind of like throwing random political comments on the "what's for dinner?" or birthday threads. Kind of like photobombing. Tonight I am having a Liberal Chicken, baked with a Colorado Herb Sauce, green beans sauteed in lightly in a browned butter recipe recommended by Rachel Maddow, and a tossed rainbow salad. Of course it will followed up by President Obama's favorite chocolate cake recipe.

I was going for a liberal political theme.
