I started my weekend off making myself so sore, I may not be able to enjoy the rest of it. HA!
We finally had a slight reprieve from our 100+ temps with a few clouds, and a short shower! So, I decided to get some stuff done outside:
My "helper":
Proof of our shower:
All done!
So, what are YOU doing this weekend?

Taking two of my girls to move into their apartment at their university. One moved in last weekend, and the other two will join her this weekend. Thankfully, we took a lot last weekend so we just have their clothes to take. Furniture went last weekend. Oh dear!

I'm keeping an eye on my dog who has a small abscess on her paw. it's been a battle to keep it wrapped up because she takes it off in the few minutes she is without the cone in order to eat. the heat wave hasn't helped when I've had to make two trips to the vet and two trips to PetSmart in the last 3 days. not to mention other related dog errands.
speaking of heat wave, my sister decided to have a yard sale tomorrow. of all days. I told her we need to price everything to go and be packed up by 11:00 am so I can get back home to my dog.
then I have a trip out to the inland valleys on Sunday to pick up something I've been wanting for some time. it's supposed to be 110+ degrees out there. so gross. so wrong. I told my friend who is going with me, we are in and we are out before noon.

Just got back from watching the movie, "The Gift". Well, if you count covering your eyes and keeping them closed for the majority of the movie, "watching the movie".
9*********stars.

I am recovering from my latest surgery. Had a lobe of my right lung removed on Tuesday so this weekend I'll be resting and doing my spirometer exercises.

We are all over the place tomorrow. DD is going to an Escape Room and then out for dinner with friends, DS has his first soccer game of the season and I have a Back-to-School shopping event for foster kids. It is going to be stinking hot so I might just float in the pool all evening.
Sunday is going to be a scramble to make sure everyone has what they need for the first day of school. Even though we have done this for 9 years now, it still feels really wrong to start school before Labor Day.

Compwalla, I hope you feel better soon. So sorry to hear you had to have more surgery. Me? I am working Saturday and probably sewing Sunday while working on laundry.

I started my weekend off making myself so sore, I may not be able to enjoy the rest of it. HA! Monday and Tuesday were my garden days because I knew the heat wave was coming. Two wheelbarrows of dead leaves, weeds, and prunings pinched my sciatic nerve so I'm sore with ya!

DH is leaving at 6:30am tomorrow to go to a car show so I'm taking advantage of the good weather and him being gone to clean the garage. My dad is staying with us for awhile so I'll be putting him to work. Sunday I'll help DH put up the shelves for my rubber stamps and set the other wall of cabinets. If we can get to Ikea sometime next week my room may be done before we go on vacation at the end of the month.

compwalla - hope the healing goes well! I was in Chicago last weekend for one of my son's graduation from Navy boot camp. Now this weekend, I have my older Navy sailor here on leave before his upcoming deployment. So we are fixing all his favorite foods and mama is soaking up time with him before he leaves for 7-9 months away on a ship with the Navy. The youngest one starts high school on Monday, but he finished his summer reading and project. There's no real supply list to shop for until he gets syllabuses from his teachers next week. And boys aren't so "into" shopping for back-to-school clothes... ha! So he's pretty much ready.

DH is going to be away at a local board game convention this weekend, so I will be home alone for most of it! It's going to be hovering around 100 degrees this weekend, so I will likely just stay at home in the a/c! I have a new-to-me book I want to start (Season of Storms by Susanna Kearsley) and for the first time in months, I want to craft so I think I might try making a wreath. Maybe for fall or Halloween - I haven't decided.

I have to work this weekend. It's suppose to be hot and humid and most of the residents at the nursing home I work at don't want their air conditioning on. Should be a hot miserable weekend.

We've been down here in Port A since Wednesday so tomorrow will be more beach. We have to go home on Sunday and it's our 29th wedding anniversary. Celebrating by driving across half of Texas but at least we'll be in the a/c. It's HOT!!

I'm riding my first century ride Sunday. I am psyched. Just stRted cycling year and a half ago. Took a bad fall 3 weeks ago and even with a helmet got a concussion. All healed up and ready to roll.

A lot of knitting while making sure dh is comfortable after having 4 wisdom teeth taken out. It's too humid to do yard work. I want to go to a fiver festival but not sure if that's going to happen. My aunt is having an open house today to celebrate her marriage but I'm not sure if I want to go alone.

papersilly healing thoughts for your dog. compwalla positive thoughts for healing {{hugs}}. bluepoprocks I hope that your weekend is better than it sounds like it is going to be! I am doing some purging. I got rid of almost all of the last of my paperback books, keeping only my Dean Koontz, and got rid of all of my hardcover books except for my Koontz and Stephen King novels. I am going to clean off a small shelving unit next to my desk and offer my scrapbooking magazines for free on the on line site here. If time allows, I have a pantry cabinet full of scrapping supplies that I want to purge and offer for sale cheaply on the same on line site. I already have bags and bags of things to take to the thrift store. I hate purging, I am a hoarder at heart but I know it needs to be done, especially since I am always adding new things from yard sales. And once I am done purging I can organize my photography things, my props, etc. rather than having those tucked here and there around the house and difficult to access when I want them. Dh is thrilled, because he is a minimalist and hates clutter, lol, though he is very indulgent of my 'collecting'. Tonight dh and I are going to watch 'The Great Outdoors'. We love that movie and haven't seen it in years. It will be a hot weekend here as well, so it's a good time to catch up on 'indoor' things and take advantage of the a/c.
