I counted how many page kits I had in the first pile. There are 76. Plus one card kit. (The cards are adorable!) There is another stack sitting here beside me in equal size. It's not looking good is it? That was what I pulled out of the closet at 11 pm one night. There may be more. I the odds are ever in my favour of this. Oh cr@p I forgot I have a MASSIVE Fiskars piece of luggage outside that is FULL to the top with paper and more paper, too. Ok I need to go through that at some point too. -------------------------------------- OMG I love my stash of ready to use stuff! It is amazing. I would say I have 50-100 layout kits. I am not sure exactly as I suspect there may be more down there. I have excellent taste! I am going to plug the two layout clubs I buy from. a ) Paisleys and Polkadots . I have bought lots. I may even had a few I have paid for previously and the owner is just waiting to send them to me. I am going to email her tonight to see if she has anything for me!!! I am so excited about next month, too! b ) Scrapbook Generation and I would say have lots of these and enjoy them very much. I hope I can get some cool stuff this month! Tomorrow I am going to take more out and put them somewhere that they will be easily accessible!

OOOh, I am so envious of you right now. I have a mountain of stuff but very few actual kits left as those are obviously easier to tackle than starting from scratch with a design of my own, pulling papers and so on. Enjoy!

Do you share your layouts anywhere? I've seen you post multiple times about being "The Prima Lady" and how much stash you have, but I haven't seen anything you've shared.

I thought you didn't scrap? I don't scrap per se. I do collect, though and I have a decent stash!

I has been 4 or 5 years since a photo hit paper. A page will kill me!!!
I will try to scrap a page. I will try. I have to print some photos, too.
I wish I could lie about my stash but there are too many people on here who can out me lol!
I will scrap though. I will!

I think just a one page challenge is a good place to start, because once you do it, you'll not want to stop.

I can relate. When I was unpacking my stuff I knew I had a couple of file storage boxes full to the top with these kits I bought a long time ago. They're cute and I could see myself using some of them, but until I go through my photos too and see what matches up I really didn't want to get rid of them! And then there were the mini book kits. A whole huge stack of those too, with albums and all the stuff to make them. Some I know I won't use now and I can send those packing, but there are other ones that might be useful for smaller projects... It really is a disease. I'm going to be scrapping this coming weekend though for the first time in a long time, and going away to another all day crop in a few more weeks! I want to work on assembling more of the base pages for my anniversary album and go through some of my Disney pics to get some of those edited and printed for the crop coming up. I think it will be easier to do some of those layouts at the away crop because they're pretty specific so I won't have to take everything and the kitchen sink with me to make them.

heck-- you could make a page and instead of using photos, you could use the spaces as journaling spots- voila, a SB page full of stories! no one says a SB page HAS to have photos!!

Well you've made me feel better, if that helps! I have been going through my incomplete projects box and I have about 15 kits from previous conventions I haven't used yet, maybe 3 of those aren't put together at all. Tonight I decided on photos for a kit from GASC in July 2003. Yes, over a dozen years ago LOL. But the paper is sooo pretty, it's from Club Scrap. I wish their stuff wasn't quite so theme-y because it is amazing! Anyway, I've set a goal of getting my photos printed, a few embellishments added, and journaling completed (my downfall) by the end of this week. I challenge you to select some photos you already have printed and select a kit that compliments it. Deadline: Friday evening so you will be ready to scrap. That's too many pretty things just sitting there

heck-- you could make a page and instead of using photos, you could use the spaces as journaling spots- voila, a SB page full of stories! no one says a SB page HAS to have photos!! crimsoncat05 While I was shopping online last night I came across a fabulous Halloween line that I have absolutely no need for, I have few Halloween photos and more than enough paper already. So I went on my merry little way. Then I remembered your post here, and a once in a lifetime haunted house I went to in high school. As in, the guy moves out of his house for months at a time so they can build what they need once in a lifetime type of thing. Anyway, I don't have photos of the event, but plenty of memories. So into my cart they went. Thanks for the inspiration!

dewryce, always happy to enable-- I mean, help!! lol!! That is a pretty cool story-- well worth writing down, and you still get to play with pretty / scary Halloween papers!! I've done the same thing with some of my school memories, and need to do more of this type of page. I like taking photographs, but there's also some stories that I want to record even without photographs. You'll have to post the page when you get done!! ETA: a couple other ideas: a) if you DID want to add a photo (which, again, you wouldn't have to do, but if you did), a 'generic' Halloween photo would work with a page like this, too-- you could take a photo of a pumpkin, your jack-o-lantern, someone else's Halloween decorations in your neighborhood, find a stock photo from the Internet... a Halloween photo of some sort would still go with your story. b) or, a page like this is a good excuse to make a really fancy page decorated with Silhouette die cuts, etc. without worrying that you have to 'focus on the photo' because there doesn't have to be one!

Yes, when I tell my DH about it I will blame you for enabling me Journaling is the hardest thing for me, but I feel it is so important. So much so that I am paralyzed wanting it to be perfect. What if I forget something? Does it sound like my voice, the way I think? So I have an album full of pages that are complete save for the journaling.

I do that sometimes too (okay, most of the time). I usually just start writing about the topic, and it turns out more stream-of-consciousness than first think (which is more like my journaling pages are), and it usually takes up more space that I left for it, but it sounds more 'authentic' to me when I do it that way. I do it by hand, which helps me to not 'edit' myself like I would if I was typing. If you have space left over when you're done writing, you can always fill it in with an extra embellishment of some sort. And if you need more space, you can add it on the back, add a pocket to the back with a tag, or add a 6x12 page protector with just journaling, to go with your layout.
There's a good many pages I do that only have bullet-style or list-style journaling on, too-- those are more 'factual' type pages; 'this is where we went, this is what we saw while we were there' type pages. I don't do a lot of pages with emotional or memory-type journaling, but when I do, I apparently have a lot to say, lol!

Love the idea of getting photos online, it actually made me realize there may be photos of this exact haunted house available. The owner was the creator of the most popular video game at the time and it was a huge deal in Austin. I will check for that!

And I like my photos to be the visual focus of the page. The 6"x12" protector is a great idea. And it makes me think...does the fuse only work with separated page protectors (like for PL) or would it work on regular ones also? I will have to research. I have an older layout where the title opens on the side and the journaling (space ha! Cause I haven't done the journaling yet), with a mini page protector that was made to stick to the side of the 12x12 protector. It would be awesome if I could do that in pretty much any size at any place on the layout.

What you're excited anout, what you'll miss, what you look forward to doing. You can use beautiful paper and embellishments that you love, but haven't found photos to use with them.
