that borrowed my circle cutter about 5 months ago...
I FB messaged her one last time, after her not putting it on her porch last Tuesday, saying that I did not understand why I was not getting it back. I told her I needed it to make something for a party (Not true, but I couldn't think of anything else to say, since she had had it for so long, and I had been texting her every 2-3 weeks asking about it).
Well, I woke up Wed. morning to a response (she had not responded to any of my texts since she told me she was bringing it over sometime in April) saying that it was on her porch in the planter. I went by and it was there. Now, why the heck she could not have just done this like I had asked her to on Tuesday, OR dropped it by since SHE borrowed it, is beyond me...but I now have it back in my possession. Now...why was that SO hard???

Maybe she couldn't find it before and thought she had lost it. Or maybe she was just hoping you'd forget about it

Weird, but I'm glad you got it back, finally.
People are weird.
And I don't like to loan out my stuff.

Glad you got it back, and yes, why did she have to make it so difficult?

She either "lost" it or was hoping you wouldn't remember it. Glad you finally got it back. No more loans to her!
My sister borrowed a stamp set, then let a neighbor/friend borrow it. (You know where this is going right?). Neighbor/friend moved away. Ugggh! In the big scheme of things it's only a stamp set and not worth being angry over, but I liked that set.

Weird. I'm glad you got it back.
I hate to borrow things because I am rubbish at returning them. I once returned a book to a friend 6 years after I borrowed it.

My friends are welcome to use my crafty tools, but they have to do so at my house. I don't lend them out.
I'm glad you got your circle cutter back!

Well, my opinion is that she wanted to keep it. I hope next time she asks, you tell her no, that since she can't be bothered to return in a timely manner OR respond to you, that you are not loaning to anyone.
I had a similar thing happen to me several years ago except my story has ALL kinds of crazy in it. I realized that woman had LOTS of screws loose and finally got all or most of my scrapbooking tools back from her. Fortunately, they moved out in the country and aren't in town as often and don't run into her for months at a time.

I'm glad you got your cutter back at last., and that it's not broken. I had a friend who borrowed my tripod and returned it minus the camera clip, which she had somehow lost. This is the sort of thing that irritates me no end, and why I finally decided not to lend anyone anything ever again! (Apart from two or three people that I know will return my stuff, and not let anyone else near it either.)

That's crappy she wouldn't return it. I will never understand people who don't return things timely or things in poor condition. It's thoughtless and rude. You want to keep it? Fine, pay for it and I'll buy a new one.

I think some people you just can't lend stuff to, and the only way to figure that out is the hard way.
I have someone I won't lend things to any more. I lent her nail polish once and she left it on her front lawn in August for 2 weeks. I lent her my bathing suit and never got it back (and I was very careful to explain I had paid too much money for it and it was the only bathing suit I'd ever actually liked and felt good in). And, while not exactly a lend, I gave her all of our gender neutral baby clothing (mostly undershirts and onesies, and sleepers, really basic stuff) after DD3 outgrew it all, and she didn't offer it back to me when were expecting DD4, so we had to pretty much completely buy all new sleepers and onesies.
A few weeks ago she asked to borrow my camera lenses and I just didn't respond!!

Yeah, no question...I will not be loaning anything out to her again, that's for sure. I will probably even unfriend her on FB. We were never really friends to begin with.

Hey KikiPea, I can't find my circle cutter and wondered if you had one you could loan me ??? Glad you got it back but dang, the work you had to put into it. I don't get why some people don't have better manners.

Thankfully you got it back, any further requests would be met with the comment that I would love to loan it to her but another friend borrowed it and simply won't return it.

Thank goodness you finally got it back. I admit I am not a loaning kind of person especially when it comes to my craft supplies. I do my best to cultivate good tools and I take very good care of them. I would soon as say no or gift someone their own tools than loan out mine. Lol. I also hate the awkwardness of hunting down my own tools. I never understood people who borrow and don't return on time or at all.

Well, I didn't have to unfriend her, because she unfriended me first. WTHeck? This was ALL on her! Oh well, no love lost here.

People are weird. If she had lost it, a nice honest "I'm sorry" and offer to repay it would make amends in almost any case.

If she unfriended you I don't think you are missing much. She sounds like a real peach. Glad you got the circle cutter back.
