I wondered when the smoke from the big fires in Lake County was going to make its way down to my neck of the woods. It's here along with 90+ degree temperatures. I just hope in this hot weather no new fires start. El Niño or no El Niño I can't wait for fall/winter.

I'm in the east bay and the air is horrible.
What I'm worried about with the El Nino is that they're saying all of the rain is going to be in So Cal? And there are no dams or reservoirs? What about us???

So that's what this haze is. I'm sitting here on Stinson Beach thinking what's with this persistent pollution. Now I know.

I went out about 1:30 to get the mail and could smell it. I just posted on Facebook that because of our new windows it is 26 degrees cooler in the house than it is outside ~ without the A/C on.

We were down in San Jose this morning and at 7 there wasn't much, but when we headed back north around 10 it was crazy smokey. It is so hot! Very ready for cooler weather!

Was at a soccer game between 9;00-10:00. Did not notice it at all at the start. But by the end you could smell it and the air was brown and hazy. Was sure it was a new fire and even news reports were commenting about the number of people reporting this issue over a widespread area. We went to the beach- salty fresh air. Mmm

Seems better this afternoon, but it was super hazy this morning. Wish El Nino would hit early and put those fires out.

I'm in Santa Cruz and no smoke here, but it's HOT. Our pool is 94 right now and it's 4.45! We're not used to this. Where is the fog??

We went down to the Outlets in Petaluma this morning and everything was normal. As we walked around we could see and smell it coming. By the time we headed home around 1 pm Santa Rosa was covered. Even here in my neck of the woods where it is usually cooler and clearer the smoke is drifting in.

There is no real breeze so it has settled in and top it off with the heat - yuck!

I was up in Sebastopol today (near Santa Rosa) and it was hot and a little hazy all day. I didn't notice any smoky smell but my sister just said she could smell the smoke over here in the NE bay earlier in the day when I was gone. Now it's cooling down (6:30 pm) and no smoky smell.

I was in orinda and it was horrible all day, drove through the tunnel to Berkeley for dinner (at La Mediteranae on college yummmm) and it was still bad but not as bad.
It seems a lot better now...we actually have all our doors open cooling the house down.

We really need a meet up don't we? For some reason I thought you were closer, in or near the town of Sonoma. I guess I just hear Sonoma and think town, because that's the closest thing to me. Novato is centrally located and easy to get to for a North Bay meet-up.

Welcome to my world We have had the smoke from 5 fires including the Lake County fire. yesterday was the first day in almost 3 weeks we haven't been smoked out. We can still smell the smoke but it is clear outside. I am really glad daughter is not here right now with all the smoke with her asthma it would be bad. There were many days where the air was unhealthy and or hazardous. Hopefully it won't last long.

It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow. Not COOL, mind you. But better than today, which was pretty much unbearable.

I smelled it yesterday inside Target in Pinole. It was wretched. I don't realize what it was. DD and I rode our bikes almost to Berkeley this morning and didn't notice too much odor, but the haze was visible. The heat was killer. As much as I hate the fog I need it to come back soon.

We drove up to Oregon about a week and a half ago, once we hit 20 is was just so hazy and the closer to Oregon we got the more dense the smoke. Apparently they have two fires. We couldn't even make out the Mt. Shasta..so bad.
