Do you have one that you love? My old one finally died and I just came back from vacation and got so sick of carrying the DSLR around.

How much do you want to spend? I have an old version of the Canon S120 and love it. I don't own a big camera and this fits my needs.

I love my Olympus Stylus point & shoot. It's underwater also. Here is a pic I took on vaca using the magic filter "dramatic". It's just fun.

I just bought a Canon Power Shot Sx 710. I love it! It's easy to use and has wifi connection to transfer photos to your phone. It fits easily in my purse and has 30x optical zoom! My last Canon camera had 12x optical zoom, so I was ready for an upgrade. Canon is a great brand, reliable and easy to use!

I have had a old Nikon CoolPix for a long time and I love it. I had one prior to this one that I loved too, but I dropped and broke it. I can only imagine they have improved them more by now.
My daughter has an old Canon point and shoot that takes great photos.
I would feel comfortable with either of those brands.

The Fujifilm X100T is fantastic. I've borrowed a friend's and loved it. Gorgeous images and so easy to carry. Really makes me want to get one for non-bird shots.

We bought a mirrorless Olympus camera last year when we went to Europe because we were tired of carrying around our canon dslr. It is a fantastic camera with fantastic technology. The pictures are almost as good as from my canon (I'm sure they could be as good if I learned how to use the camera a bit more) but it fit in my purse, or in a tiny case, and that included an extra lens(we travelled with the stock lens and a telephoto). Fantastic and worth the investment. I think DSLRs wi,l have major competition now that this technology is around. They're just so much smaller. There are many models to choose from, and I know that other companies make mirrorless cameras, but I think Olympus is the front runner.

i have always loved Nikons. I had a Canon in between but ditched it for a Nikon Coolpix S9400. I bought it in 2011 so I'm sure there's an updated version out. I like the size - not so small you can't hang on to it but still small enough to slip into a small purse. Takes great photos and has some good features. 've been very happy with it and it's going to Disney again in a couple of weeks!

I have a Panasonic Lumix (tough as old boots which is good for me) with a professional photo card in it. It's good for low light situations which is great for me as I take it to concerts. Don't skimp on the card.
Point and shoots can get dust inside the lens because of the movement. I'm able to take mine apart and clean it using a YouTube video guide, which I have done.

I just bought a point and shoot last year. I spent a LOT of time reading reviews on camera websites and amazon. I ended up getting the Cannon S120. It has been a really nice point and shoot camera. I would recommend it.

My last 2 P&S have both been waterproof, which is a must-have for me because I use it a lot at the beach and at the snow. 1. Panasonic Lumix (can’t remember the model number) 2. Canon Powershot D20
Neither of them take outstanding photos, but I guess I’m comparing them to my DSLR. The Canon takes better photos than the Panasonic did. But the Canon is playing up a bit now, whenever I take a photo using the flash, I have to hold my finger on the shutter button for AGES before it actually takes the photos. Very annoying.
The next time I buy a P&S I am going to make sure I have burst mode as well as drive. The Panasonic had speed burst but the Canon doesn’t, and I really miss that function. My other “must-have” is a view finder, but it is almost impossible to find P&S cameras with view finders these days.

Another one who loves my Nikon COOLPIX. I have a purse size one and a larger, all-the-bells-and-whistles one. Both are easy to use and take great pictures.

I LOVE the Canon G series. Had the Canon G10 for years and just upgraded to the Canon G16. Never a disappointment!

I have a Nikon DSLR but am looking for something smaller to keep with me. I believe mirrorless is the way to go, I've narrowed down my choices to the Sony A6000 which is rated highly for it's range, and the Nikon J5 (because I'm a Nikon girl). Still deciding. Good luck!
