I keep them in the plastic photo organizers Costco had ages ago, although you can still find them at M's. It's like a tote with a bunch of little ones inside. Beyond that, I am not organized at all! Nothing is labeled and it's a complete mess. (At least my digital copies are dated.)

I store my photos by layout in open white envelopes in a photo box. I put the year & date on each envelope at the pointed end. That way, when I pull the envelope match it to paper and when I am ready to make the layout, I have the date right there. I have one or two years in each photo box. I am taking less photos as DD is growing older.
